This is a great and BEAUTIFUL hotel and full of history. Once we got there they received us so very nicely and took us to our room, gave us information about the room, wifi, everything! and info/brochures about the town itself, super friendly. The room was decorated very nicely and clean. Breakfast was also very good too, unfortunately we didn't dine there at the hotel, which now I regret. We went to another restaurant in another hotel and the treat us very poorly.

We stayed one night at Deutsches Haus. The hotel is a beautiful historical building in the center of the city which is also well worth seeing. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable and the bathroom looked Brand new and was spotless.

I strongly recommend this hotel.

We spent one night there shortly before Christmas. The woman who runs the restaurant and also checks guests in was mostly rude. I would say she was late 30s, dark hair, slimbuild and about 5'-6". When we got to our room, we found the window faced the roof of the buidling next door, and it was only 3 or 4 feet away. So absolutely no view. (Something to think about). At dinner we asked to see a menu in English if they had them. When we got ready to order, my wife was told they did not have the "special" listed on the menu because the menu's were out of date. So she ordered venison. It took a hour to receive our meal. When she got it, it was VERY rare. The chestnut soup was excellent. After dinner we ordered cappuccino. She brought us espresso. We politely let her know we asked for cappuccinos and she argued with us saying we had ordered espressos. The next morning at breakfast, she chastised my wife for using the "wrong" spoon to eat her cereal with. .......so......be warned. Great location, bad service by this one woman......

Room Tip: I would not go back. If you do, don't eat at the restaurant and if you want a room facing the s...

For the price, this hotel is a bit drab and weary, as is Dinkelsbuhl itself. While other reviewers found it "priceworthy", this is not within my definition of value for money. The hotel exterior is dramatic and enticing, but once inside, the guest rooms are a bit sterile, drab and unappealing. They are large but lack coziness and taste.

There is a wide staircase leading to guest rooms which has preserved the Bavarian appeal, while "heavy" and darkish, the hallways are reasonably charming.

The dining room maintains lovely Bavarian features, offering guests an excellent first impression upon entering the hotel making it a challenge for rooms to compete. The service is excellent and the food well presented and prepared. Well worth dining here.

Breakfast is average. Location in center of Dinklesbuhl is good, but unless headed on the Romantic road with other goals and purpose, neither city nor hotel are quite worth a side visit.

The hotel had made a mistake in our booking. They were most fair in negotiating, allowing the initial booking price as it was their oversight. This left us with a far more favorable final feeling. Honest, good people in the tough hotel and restaurant business.

In town center opposite entrance to St George's Church.
Beautiful 16th Century timbered building but room with modern facilities.
Still some medieval character inside hotel.
Wide staircase easy access.
Double room very spacious, spotlessly clean and good value for money.
Staff courteous, helpful and at least bilingual: German / English.
Very glad to have stayed here.

Dinkelsbühl is a very nice old town. An Deutches house is a very nice and priceworthy hotel in a very nice city with god food and a friendly staf. They took care of us and kept the kitchen open when we arrived late. The food and the breakfast was excellent. We can really recommend it!

This hotel is charming, with a central location, spacious rooms, and great value. Staff at check in was a little disinterested, but all other experiences with staff were great. Breakfast was good, didn't eat at the restaurant, as it looked a little modern, and we were in the mood for traditional German fare. Beds were very firm but the rooms were tidy, very charming, and well equipped. You won't go wrong staying here.
