We stayed here for one night on our way to Slovenia. We booked two double rooms both of which overlooked the street but proved to very quiet at night. The rooms were clean, tidy and quite spacious with tea and coffee making facilities which was a surprise bonus.
The Goldenen Anker is tucked away in a quieter part of town so you don't get a lot of traffic - either by foot or car- passing by. It doesn't have a car park (few places in Dinkelsbuhl do) but you can park overnight in the street near to the hotel (as we did) if you place a parking permit in your windscreen. The hotel will provide you with one on request. A number of staff spoke English well so there was no problem communicating.
There is a small terrace area out front where you can eat if the weather is good and the restaurant inside is quite spacious and furnished in an old traditional style which is really charming.
The food is of good quality and good value for money with the portions being pretty generous and the service staff were friendly and efficient.
Breakfast is a self-service buffet arrangement offering the usual fare such as bread, ham, cheese, cereals, preserves etc. It was nothing special but was of good quality and presentation nonetheless.
I would certainly stay here again.More
