Dinkelsbuhl is a fairy tale Town and the Hezelhof is the perfect place to stay to get the most out of it. The hotel is situated in a very historic building which has been completely refurbished and has all the comforts of a 4 star hotel. We stayed for two nights in one of the larger apartment rooms at the rear of the building. Very roomy and quiet. Breakfast is a little basic but adequate and is located across the road in a different building ..still qiute convenient. The hotel is right in the middle of the old town and has a lift which was very welcomed . The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the Hezelhof for a perfect stay.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the apartment rooms

If you are visiting Bavaria, do yourself a favour & stop for a while in Dinkelsbuhl. We had read some wonderful reviews of Dinkelsbuhl, so thought we should stop by during a 3 month tour of Europe in late 2010. We were roaming the streets & saw this lovely looking hotel, so on speck, enquired if they had a room. Despite us speaking limited German, the lady behind the counter was fluent in English & was very accommodating. She couldn't have been more helpfull. The lady showed us the room, before expecting a commitment from us & was almost appologetic that it was one of the smallest rooms available. The room was wonderful, so we grabbed it for the night. We were in room 108 in Obergeschoss, which was one of the smallest rooms, but it was still easily 3-4 times larger than any London or Paris unit. It had all the amenities you need including a kitchenette. They have a very trendy cocktail/bar area near reception, that we called 'the cave'. We had a few drinks there & again, the receptionist provided us with great friendly customer service. It was a great space to sit & relax. If we ever find ourselves in Dinkelsbuhl again (which is a possability) we will definately stay here again, only this time for more than one night.

This rather small, fine hotel was great in aesthetics, service and location! we loved it's modern style, behind traditional walls... Dinkelsbuhl is definetely worth a visit and this is the place to stay! probably it can be used as base for other excursions...(Nordlingen, even Rothenburg) as the town itself is very pretty but small. Our room was facing back, nice view and quiet. Breakfast was served at a related restaurant, crossing the street, very good as well. Also, good value for the price you pay.

We loved our night in this amazing hotel. Dinkelsbuhl is an authentic Bavarian village, completely preserved. Everything is traditional. The facade of this hotel is, too. But step inside and you could be in London, Berlin or the Village... very cool. Very Zen. And, best of all, very friendly. No snobby boutique hotel here. The staff answered every question and met every need we had, even a bandaid for a cut, with a smile.

But back to the design - starting with an old, traditional bavarian hotel, they gutted it, cleaned all the beams and stone walls, replastered, and designed every detail. The contrast of old and new was stunning. Clean, natural wood. Refinished wood beams. White walls. Classy and useable bathrooms. Nooks and crannies with hidden elements. This was a pleasure to experience. Not design for designs sake, but design for comfort and simple living. The bed was excellent, enhanced by the high-thread-count cotton sheets.

We were doing family business nearby and happened to stop here. What a surprise. We had no idea.... I would drive a couple of hours out of my way to experience it. And the morning breakfast across the street (included) was great, too. Next time you're in the region, this is not to be missed.
