Very good hotel and perfect location. It is just at the beginning of the pedestrian area and most crowded street Maximilianstrasse. 5-10 minutes walking to Markt and Rathaus, 15-20 mins to Fugeroi, 15-20 minutes walking to the Cathedral (Dom) and around 20-25 minutess walking to Leopold Mozart house.
Room is not extra spacious but sufficiently big. Beds and linen are good.
3M Bar at the hotel is very nice, drinks and food are good and good priced.
Parking location is conveniently nearby but not at the hotel building (500m/few minutes away walking).

We had a very good experience in the hotel! Loved the decor of the lounge and lobby area. Being on the ground floor of the hotel is itself an experience! Loved the study room themed area on the ground floor as well as the furnishings in the hotel. The interior of the suite that we got was fantastic! It was spacious and very tastefully decorated. The only thing is that night time the air conditioner is not working. As the day was a very humid and hot one, it got a bit stuffy in the room. The hotel staff however was very nice to promptly bring a fan when he realized the air conditioner was not working. After explaining it is still stuffy, he graciously brought another fan. Thumbs up for the service!

The hotel is recently renovated, great rooms, comfortable. The food is very good and the staff is very friendly. Definitely a very nice place to stay right in the center of the city. the only problem was the lack of help with taking care of the luggage and the fact that now they dont have a parking lot, which means hving to park a bit far from the hotel

We had an excellent time in Augsburg, mainly also as the hotel was located in the center of town, close to the pedestrian area and to some excellent restaurants. We booked a double room and our kids 4 and 8 years old were allowed to sleep in our room. We can really recommend this place.

Excellent service. I arrived at near midnight, and was greeted well, and had my room ready for me. The room was gorgeous. Very roomy, and elegantly decorated. They just got done redoing this hotel from the ground up, so it's all brand new. The decor is very elegant and modern, but not bleeding edge trendy to make you uncomfortable. The staff are all very nice and helpful.

The bar is nicely decorated, has fast service, and the beer is remarkably inexpensive, especially compared to a comparable hotel in France. My party ordered 8 large beers, and it was only about 25 euros for the lot. Very nice, and good quality brands.

The location is right down town, which right now is a bit of mess due to a large amount of construction, making it somewhat difficult to get to the hotel. The view up the street towards St Anna's Church is very worth a picture though.

The breakfast buffet was quite large and varied. There seemed to be something for everyone.

The hotel had free Wifi included in the stay. A very good thing for business travelers.

My room was on the 3rd floor, facing the street, and there was no noticeable street noise in the room.

Room Tip: With newly remodeled rooms, I don't think you can go wrong at this point.

Recently spent two nights here while visiting Augsburg.

The hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard - slick, modern and in very good taste. There is still work being carried out too.

When we were visitng, (mid September) the centre of Augsburg was (still is?) one massive set of road works. The sat nav gave up 'recalculating' and we used intuition on getting to the hotel which we eventually did. We had one waiting in the car, while the other dashed into the hotel to ask where we could park. A private multi-storey carpark, along with more conference facilities are the remaining works being done to the hotel. In the meantime a sympathetic receptionist told us where to park. It was the nearest public parking garage to the hotel, but still a 5-8 minute walk away, not fun with luggage.

Check in was efficient if a little cool (not the sympathetic one this time). Our room was at the back of the hotel (good location - main road the hotel is on is a major thoro'fare in the city) so quiet and west facing. It was small but beautifully furnished and decorated - all new, top quality furniture and fabrics. The bathroom was also quite small, well tiny really but also immaculately designed, really quite beautiful! The toiletries were superb too. I would agree with reviewer 'wre3' that the a/c was not up to scratch and had hardly any effect. The weather was warm while we were in Augsburg and we had to keep the window open - so it was fortunate we were not on the main road. However, we had electronically controlled external blinds to the window while helped keep the fierce afternoon sun out of the room, nice touch.

The beds were very comfortable, the linens excellent and the bathroom towels also. We had a minibar, massive LCD flat screen TV, ipod docking station and an amazing telephone.

We had dinner both nights in the hotel restaurant, Maximillians. It was excellent - even faultless. The menu (with English translation) was well thought out. The service was perfection - charming friendly and efficient. The food was similarly excellent. It was comfortably busy and very slick in design, like the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was similarly excellent, massive choice, hot and cold and well, faultless !

We booked through a third party consolidator and got a very good rate which made our stay all the more enjoyable !

I'd have given this hotel an 'excellent' rating had it not been for the pathetic a/c and the awkward parking arrangements - which cost us an extortionate 30 euros for our two nights which included a Sunday when nothing is opened ! A little larger room would have been nice too but hey - it was still more than okay.
