I attempted to reserve through email with the hotel and was sent a confirmation email but no confirmation number. Upon arrival, I found out I did not have a reservation for a suite, but with Linda's help, I was able to secure a room. This was one of three minor snafus I had during my two night stay. The suite was one of the best I have stayed in throughout my travels, recently-renovated and well-equipped, quite palatial. Very little noise on a Thursday and Friday night, bed was comfortable. One of the nice touches is an HDMI/USB port connected to the television. You will find that at the far end of the work desk. The volume on the remote control to the television in 108 did not work, and staff were up in the room within 15 minutes to try and correct it.

Breakfast downstairs was ample with a wide-array of choices. The breakfast staff was efficient and kind, and quick to help.

Parking in the garage was harrowing, for some reason AVIS Europe always rents me the largest car/SUV they have, so getting down to the lower level in that behemoth without scraping the side mirrors was a chore. Don't forget to hand over your parking ticket to the front desk when checking in to make sure you get the 12 eur/night rate.

The hotel's location is excellent, well-connected to everything in Regensburg. Thank you Linda and Antonio for your help during my stay, I appreciate it and will see you in October with my wife and daughter. You are both shining stars and assets to Hotel Bischofshof.

Room Tip: 1) If you park in the garage, take your ticket with you to hand in to the front desk at checkin. 2) If you have the munchies, on the other side of the cathedral you will find a Kebab stand. High quality, cheap prices. 3) Make sure you have a confirmation number!

Very nice staff, very tasty beer, and fantastic food. I recommend to order 1/2 pork neck. Very delicious even is not light food it was fantastic. The garden is very quite, you can relax after meal. We don't stayed in this hotel but next time we will definitely stay there.

I had the privilege to be at this amazing hotel , just renovated and located in the core of the city.
Rooms look great, good space, good showers, nice breakfast, great staff, very cordial and polite.
wi-fi could be improved though.

The other reviews are correct. Great location for seeing the jewel that is Regensburg. Everywhere in the old town is only 15 minutes walk maximum from the reception.
Refurbishing is taking place. We were in the building across the courtyard from the main hotel right under the cathedral (don't worry, the bells are seldom rung!). Our room (325) was well appointed and comfortable. Quite fit for purpose, nothing too fancy! The staff really are most friendly and welcoming. This applies to all local people we met while spending 4 days in this hidden gem of a city. Their restaurant is very fine, and there are a host of other eating places to choose from nearby. Would we go again and stay here? Absolutely. There must be plenty of other fine hotels to stay in, but we would recommend the Bishopshof to anyone with a soul! Enjoy. If you can, put Weltenburg Abbey (astonishing Baroque interior in plain building) & Walhalla on your itinerary. We had a car which was most useful as the boats only start in April.

Room Tip: Some rooms in the main building are over the road with some early traffic. Courttyard view is quiet.

We loved this hotel. Perfectly located in the old town, in a stately former bishops' residence near the central cathedral (Dom - where we joined the Easter service; standing room only in this ancient, still active cathedral). In the midst of hundreds of shops and restaurants, only blocks to the river, lots of touring available. We stayed Easter weekend (end of March 2013) and without prior reservation were able to get a spacious king corner suite in a turret (large bath, dining area, large living room) for 170 Euro, including full hot breakfast for 2. Very elegant. Could get cold in winter (can request space heaters, though probably not needed. We were comfortable). Parking was 12 Euro in an adjoining outdoor or underground lot.
They have their own great restaurant, where we had an excellent Bavarian dinner (for approx. 35 euro, including beer & dessert). They also have a biergarten in warmer months.
We took a tour of the historic courthouse/prison in the center of town, which was fascinating; it took about an hour and you can buy tickets there at the information center.
Another must-see/do is to eat lunch at the nearby Wurstkuche on the river. It's the oldest bratwurst eatery in the world and has been continuously operating for hundreds of years - eat in the original historic little building where they're cooking the wurst in the entry kitchen (or just outside in the cobblestone area). lived in Germany for 5 years and been back many times (as well as throughout Europe) but for some reason never heard much about or visited Regensburg. Now we're already planning a return visit and will stay at the Bishofshof Hotel am Dom

Room Tip: We loved the corner "Kurfurst Maxmilian" suite. It's on the second floor and the turret windows overlook the pedestrian shopping streets below.
