“Ancient Bridge - gateway to beautiful ancient city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2013

Walk along the Roman-built Old Stone Bridge to cross over the Danube river and you will see a multitude of beautiful views of the river itself and the beautiful, quaint, pristine town of Regensburg. It reminded me of the many quaint towns in Italy, but this one is clean, manicured and maintained with typical German pride. A must if you are in Regensburg.

“Not So Great”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

A lot of construction going on now but it is really hard to say this was a sight worth seeing. Many more interesting sights around the city.

“Picturesque”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

Old Stone Bridge to cross the Danube river, it was supposed built by the Romans. Great view, you can see the Cathedral on the other side along with the entrance to the Medieval town of the "UNESCO World Heritate site". Nice place to take your photograph. Downtown is a couple of blocks away. There's a visitor center at the entrance of the bridge (left side facing the town) that explains the story of the town and the bridge.

“Authentic medieval town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

Since Regensburg did not suffer bomb damage during WWII, one can imagine and experience what it was like centuries ago. The bridge itself offers a wonderful view of the Danube river and the town that has grown up around it . With a little bit of imagination you can picture the many people that have used the bridge over time. There is construction at the moment which does alter the "vibe" a bit but worth it to preserve & protect this little gem. A wonderful place to take pictures.

“Upon the fog, runs a city's life”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2013

A great place to step by and take your time to simply feel the firmly put stones under your shoes. This bridge, said to be the oldest in europe to cross the Donau River, made by the Romans, holds a very easy and peaceful spot to enjoy in Regensburg. Under it, runs the Donau river, with a very constant and film like teasing fog that gives the city its charm during the winter. Have also a ship museum next to it, that can be very interesting. And close to the tip, lies a very famous sausagery that serves a nice bread and typical german sausage with mustard sauce for only 25 euro cents. A must.
