“Easy walk from the Station!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

If you are arriving by train the walk is about 10 mins - unless you are arriving with heaps of luggage the walk is easy
Stayed here on 2 separate nights - 1st night I had a comfort room which was small but clean complete with minibar and tv, shower room was compact but again squeaky clean the room overlooked the Danube and was fairly quiet but if there was any noise the room also had ear plugs. 2nd night I had a deluxe room this was huge!! 2 double beds, full bathroom with bath and shower with a lovely view over into the town and its cobbled stones - during the night cars passing over this was a bit noisy - did not effect me but the ear plugs may come in handy if you are a light sleeper
Breakfast was self service, good choice with lovely fresh bread and rolls

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel - Danube side if you are a light sleeper

Located right downtown, but easy to reach by car - we stayed one night and left the next morning, so we parked the car on the street for free. The room was large overlooking the Danube. Service was excellent and breakfast very good.

This is a decent if slightly poky hotel; nothing special but nicely located and well maintained. I had a deluxe room but apart from size it was not especially luxurious - some extra small touches such as tea/coffee-making facilities would help. The decent breakfast buffet can be recommended and like the rooms represents excellent value. Friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel offers rooms of moderate but acceptable size, with modern - but small - bathroom facilities. Rooms are beautifully equipped and stylized, a pleasure to see. The breakfast is superior - no other word to describe (cold and warm dishes, smoked salmon, scambled eggs and bacon, etc.). At the street side you have a beautiful view of St. Paul's church, a truly wonderful sight. At the river side, you have a beautiful view on the Danube, but must also bear the noise of the traffic on the Danube quay. There is a small but cosy bar, to relax after a busy day.
The hotel has unequal floors, so you must climb some small stairs to reach other floors. There is a lift, but it cannot serve all floors due to this construction from medieval times. Be cautious at the stairs, they also have slopes for your luggage, so walk the steps and not the slope (not always easy to see)! So handicapped persons should call the hotel in advance for any needed support (I did not check their possibilities).
Service is most friendly - you will feel being welcome.
Prices vary continuously, so look for good opportunities.
Nearby (next door) restaurant Paulusbogen is one of the most pleasant places in Passau to dine out.

Room Tip: Room with view of Danube may be attractive, but think also about traffic noise there.

Exceeded expectations and cheap, was upgraded to river view room which was huge, didn t have the breakfast as was out and about at six am, there is a coffee shop next door, San Paulo, he opens a six and nothing else in the town does, I haven t had espresso like that since Italy ten years ago, then he warmed me some croissants, I think over three hours I had five espresso s here, we were like family in the end

We stayed one night at the Hotel Passauer Wolf in November after leaving our Danube River cruise. The hotel was right across the street from where the ship docked, so all we had was a one minute walk. There were ten of us traveling together but booking separately in five rooms, so we had a variety of accommodations. My spouse and I somehow scored the largest room, but all of the rooms were comfortable. The only exception is that rooms that are on the main square can be very noisy on the weekends, so ask for one on the water side, although that may be busy, too, during the summer. We were offered a glass of sparkling wine at check in, but since we were heading out right away we asked if we could enjoy it later, and that was no problem. The person at reception happily made a dinner booking for us in a local German-style restaurant. The breakfast was excellent. We thought that the room rate with breakfast was a good value. Between the ship and the hotel, we had two full days in Passau and loved the town. We would all recommend that any river cruise people plan and extra day or two if they start or end their cruise here. From Passau, we traveled by train to Munich, using a Bayern Pass where up to five people can travel together for E29, a terrific value.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the large corner rooms on the river side. Avoid the rooms on the main square that ca...

Hotel is very well located, easy walk to the center and river. If you come by car expect 1 kilometer walking to and from public garage since hotel garage accomodates just 3 or 4 cars. Room was quite small but very nice, bathroom was clean. Breakfast was delicious, wide offer of food and drinks and it doesn't cost much. All members of breakfast staff were helpful though they looked very unhappy. All three women looked like something terrible just happened to them. There is no wireless internet in the hotel, you can borrow LAN cable to use it in the room and it's for free. There si no baggage service and it seemed to be just one person doing everything in the hotel - reservation, front desk and bar too. She was very helpful but we had to wait in the reception while she was serving coffee in the bar. In my opinion hotel Wolf is quite good, offers good quality for its price but some things could be better.
