We were on a Viking Cruise and one of the stops was at Passau Germany. While there we stopped for Lunch at the Bayerischer Lowe which has a German Beer Garden. It was hot so we sat outside. Unfortunately it started to rain so we had to scramble for a table size umbrella for us 3 couples.
They were busy. Really not to impressed with Staff - it seemed as if no one was assigned to any tables. Therefore who ever was free took your table. After the initial wait someone came and we ordered some beer and wine with food to follow.
We weren't in a hurry but it seemed to take longer than normal versus some other tables who came after.
Food was good but I made mistake of ordering a Pig Knuckle which was deep fried. This was lunch so I had visions of a small knuckle which was roasted over a fire. Had Ox Knuckle several times in Germany and that was what I expected. The knuckle was huge -could have fed probably 3 people and was deep fried. The others in our group tried various things and were pleased. When wanted to go we had a difficult time getting our waitress and check.
