if you're in Nürnberg and you haven't been to the Kaiserburg, you've missed the main thing. Be sure to go there. A guided tour is nice, though there isn't a lot of interior. Don't miss the gardens behind the castle.

The castle is an impressive sight, however some parts were closed during our visit for refurbishment. Such is the luck of the draw I suppose! The site lacks in English signs and explanations for exhibits in quite a lot of areas, which was the main let down, as my German is more than a tad basic!

There was the usual display of arms and armour inside the castle museum (which has to be paid for) but nothing that sets it apart from any other castles I have visited. However you ARE allowed to take photos and the museum doesn't have a 'morgue like' atmosphere! (Krakow castle take note!)

I would recommend to go to the castle, since it is one of the treasures of Nurnberg.

It was a pity that there were any tour in English or other languages but German. Nevertheless, the guide seemed quite good.

There are different rooms to visit: The well, quite impressive; the chapel, cute; the museum, average; and a tower, which was close in March 2013.

The scene in general is worth it!

It is definitely a "hike" up to the castle, but once you are there, the views are breathtaking! You walk up on old cobblestone streets at a very steep angle, but nothing says you can't take a break and then continue on. The castle grounds are quite impressive too but by far the views are the highlight of the tour followed only by the architecture.

Let me start off by warning you: the climb up to the Kaiserburg might be challenging for some and you need to wear the right shiesfor the climb. That being said, the climb was totally worth it. You will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the city. Afterwards, go into the restaurant locate on the base and have some great lunch
