“Knights in very shiny armour”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

I was concerned about accessing the Kaiserberg as my husband was recovering from a smashed kneecap. It was however, an easy walk going through the wall at Tiergartnertor and using the gentle path round to the back of the Kaiserberg rather thna going up the steep incline into the middle of the castle.
The museum was fantastic, though over 3 floors it was difficult for my husband (he skipped the top floor - just too many stairs) An interesting collection of meddle ages armour and weaponry for anyone interested.
Our timing was wrong for any engish language tour but they gave us a guide book and we tacked onto a german tour - this was great because I now have a neat little souvenir. The double story Imrerial chapel was lovely and views from the castle walls over Nuremberg are excellent.

Small fee great value, very interesting. Great view of city. Need to be in fair to good health to walk up the hill to get to castle. Not a far distance, but very steep

“A middle age castle and museum”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

There was a museum, a tower and a well, all of which you can visit in 45-60 minutes. When you arrive there about 12pm there is a guided 30 minutes tour to the Rittersaal and Kaiser chapel; you can do it if you want to hear to the history of the castle but not a must.

“We love Castles including this one”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

The Imperial Castle is located on the highest point in Nuremberg Altstadt (Old Town). The current structure was started about 875 years ago. Your visit will consist of touring the grounds, some it’s interior and the museum which will take between 2.5 to 3 hours. I recommend all of it especially the museum. Take the time to read the placards next to the exhibits as they will give you some of the history of the castle. As castles go, this is not the largest or most ornate. It’s of the medieval period and has a rich history. It’s well worth the time.
