“Fascinating”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

See the Leni Reifenstal movie of the Hitler rally...then visit this site. Hard to imagine that these things occurred in our life-time. A bike makes it easy to get to.

“Massive”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

It is amazing to see how massive the rally grounds are. If you have the energy to walk the steps to stand where Hitler stood, you get a real appreciation of the size of the place. There is parking right there, so save your feet and drive if you have a car. Other than a few plaques, there isn't any real information.

An absolute must for anyone. Terrifying yet incredible. Allow several hours for this. Also go to the Zeppelin Field down the road to see the more recognizable rally ground as well.

“Incredible, but choose correctly!!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Took the only tour that goes inside the "Tribune", wonderful, however it is only in German, and only on Saturdays. In case you are wondering what is the tribune, it is the white stone building where Hitler used to speak in front of. It is usually locked, and therefore the intricate tile work (swastikas) can not be seen. AMber and gold dominate the inside - so the Tourist information office can tell you about it, but again, it is only in German - but the beauty the inside needs no guide!!

“Breathtakingly Enormous”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

The size of this place takes your breath away. Huge doesn’t do it justice. It was intended to be twice the size of the Coliseum in Rome and to hold 50,000 people but it was never completed.

After the war, because of its size, it was too costly to demolish it and much later it was decided to keep it as a historic relic. It’s used to store municipal vehicles and traffic signs, and in parts houses a museum orchestra rehearsal space.

You’ll have to use your imagination – with the help of the architects visualisation on information boards – to see this place as intended but as it is today it just stuns the senses with its sheer size.

Not a ‘must see’ but one that I am glad I did see.
