I have been to Hans im Glück twice now; once a few weeks after it opened for burgers and the next time, a few months down the line for drinks.
The place looks really cool, with an open design, tree stumps and greenery interspersed with the decor and some nice outdoor seating. Its basically a burger place, as the name suggests.
However, I am not sure what it's about this place but I have never come out feeling warm and satisfied. The seating, for one, is rather uncomfortable with barely any space. There are too many tables cramped next to each other and with most seats having no backrests, its not a fun meal. I don't mind not having a backrest in a beer garden but in a restaurant, its rather uncomfortable.
Next, the service is really horrid, with snooty waiters, who don't serve you unless called at least thrice, who refuse to take away the menu cards once you have chosen and who bring your drink after ages!
The menu card is very attractive again, with fonts and a story-line reminiscent of a Hans Christian Andersen fairy-tale. They have all sorts of burgers, from hamburgers and cheese burgers to veggie burgers and tofu burgers. But there's something lacking in them; they look great but taste just about OK. I suspect that they don't use the freshest of ingredients. The drinks are just about OK too.
All in all, I had the feeling that this is one place where they put a lot of thought into the decor and the branding but not so much into food. Disappointing.
