Lovely building. The restoration after WW2 is well documented. Lovely architecture. Not hard to miss as you stroll through the old town.

You cannot miss this while wandering through the Old Town of Nuremberg. The facade tells a great story. The suspended Annunciation is unique.

Approaching Lorenzkirche (St.Lawrence's Church) I thought the very ornate façade would be all there was to see because it had become a Lutheran church, but it seems to have retained the earlier art. A German friend explained that paradoxically whereas many Catholic churches in Germany didn't preserve their medieval art, the Lutheran churches, which one would think opposed to depictions of saints, did. Good thing too, since this church (after its restoration from WWII damage) has much beautiful sculpture, wood carving, and stained glass. We encountered a very informative volunteer guide who explained the windows to us. Correctly, too.

Beautiful architecture, stunning art, an incredible history -- what more do you need to know? No matter how pressed for time you might be, this is something that you shouldn't miss when you're in Nuremberg. Absolutely worth a visit.
