Attraction details
Owner description: Nuremberg has been a city of toys since the Middle Ages. With an abundance of extraordinary exhibits from antiquity to the present, Nuremberg's world famous Toy Museum presents the "world in miniature" in 1,400 square meters of space, featuring dolls, shops, tin figures and tin toys, wooden toys and a large model train set (Track S), as well as more recent toys, such as Lego, Barbie, Playmobil, and Matchbox. The imaginatively designed children's area in the attic is staffed with trained educational personnel. Summer attractions include a large outdoor playground and a museum cafe in the secluded inner courtyard. There are audio guides tailored for adults and children to escort you through the museum, and also a droll photographic treasure hunt.

After a long day at the Christkindl Markt, my husband and I found this unexpected gem just around the corner and a bit off the beaten path. It was the perfect place to spend an hour, perusing the many display cases filled with childhood toys and trinkets. The 8-euro ticket is well worth the price of admission. We were all smiles and especially enjoyed the recreation of the Omaha train station on the second floor. If you go, bring your camera -- photos are permitted WITHOUT FLASH. Highly recommend this stop be added to your Nuremberg itinerary

Well worth a visit, there are a number of floors containing lots of memories of our childhood! There was so much to see for all ages. The top floor has a play area which had plenty to do. There is a toilet on the top floor which is on the opposite end of the playroom. It was 5 Euros each adult and our 3 year old was free!

The first floor of this museum was rather blah. It wasn't until we went to the upper floors that we really got into the feel of this museum because the toys were more interactive and relevant to us.

If you like to play, you have to visit the Toy Museum in Nuremeberg, They have a wonderfull collection of dolls, with several heads. Also a great collection of Lehmann Toy Factory. It is worth a visit for more then 4 hours if you like to see everything.

Wonderful collection of toys, trains, dolls, and games. This is a fun place for adults as well as children. Make sure you get the audio.
If you are on a river boat trip make sure you mention this to get a discount.
