Again we were blown away by the sheer volume of information and exhibitions, but the lack of an English Audio guide made the visit drawn out and a bit of a drag. We left after viewing the first 2 wings out of the 4 wings available as it simply got too tiresome and long winded to read all the inscriptions.

I went to this museum for my partner. It's €6 each. You get a guide in English and they later made a tannic announcement about a guided tour in English.

All coats andbags much be left in the lockers for a €1 fee.

The museum is huge, and I found it difficult to find my way around. I went with the flow and saw some amazing things. It's worth the visit.

I heard that most of the displays do not have English descriptions, this is not true. In fact, they are very accommodating to the English speaker and many, if not most displays had English language descriptions. We enjoyed just about the entire museum, understanding the maps and directions was a bit confusing at first, the layout is a bit odd, but it makes sense once you understand the room numbering system. The rotating exhibit across the street was also really interesting and worthwhile.

We visited this museum in both 2006 and 2012, and a day should be spent at leisure at this museum, which has everything from stone age prehistory to modern day art--and everything in between. There is something for everyone here--armor and weapons, traditional country home installations, musical instruments through the ages, ceramics, fine arts--you name it!

The museum has been designed to give visitors and nationals alike an insight to the past. Well worth a visit.
