“Comfortable and a great location”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nuremburg. Our room was not very large, but it had a very large bathroom and was quite comfortable. The location is outstanding for enjoying the extensive fussgangerzone (pedestrian zone) in central Nuremburg. We came by car, and the hotel has a limited number of dedicated parking spots in the narrow alley behind the building -- a little tough to find at first, but actually very convenient for a city center location. I was disappointed that our schedule only allowed us to spend one night here; we would certainly go back again.

Perfect location in the center (many chain hotels ring the city, not quite as walkable/picturesque). We splurged on a suite and it was divine. Contrasting with the more traditional appearance of the rest of the hotel, the suite had modern furniture and hardware floors, without sacrificing old world charm. Plenty of room for our little family--separate large BR for us with ample room for baby bed; older son loved his comfortable bed in the living area. There were at least six windows in the rooms, which was lovely. Cool enough at night; despite a little outside noise, great sleeping conditions. Excellent service, fantastic breakfast. Should we return, would not stay anywhere else!

I and my wife stayed 7 nights at this City-center hotel last week. Checking-in started with the surprise of getting an upgraded room where the bedroom was connected to a small living room opening to a big full bathroom. During our stay we had wonderful breakfast. The service at all stages was second to none . I, highly, recommend this hotel to all.

Room Tip: Room 17 is very silent.

Great Value for money hotel.
Serivce is good.
Breakfast has a brilliant range they should please everyone. We found if they didn't have something you wanted then just ask.
Rooms were clean.
Overall this is hotel is excellent for service and value.

Good other rooms to use like a TV room/lounge if you room gets a little crowded.

Room Tip: We had the suite, room 54 at the 4th floor which gives you a wonderful view over the main street. I...

We booked this hotel for 2 nights pre-river cruise in December 2012. The day we arrived it was blowing snow and very cold but the welcome inside was warm and friendly. We believe that we were the only American guests, but we did not mind at all. We were welcomed by one of the owners who offered suggestions for dinner and had the staff make reservations for us. Our room ( #14) was remodeled, very large, spacious bath with shower and a wonderfully comfortable bed. It was at the end of the hall and very quiet. The breakfast buffet (included in price of room) was sumptuous! It contained everything you could possibly want along with coffee/tea, etc. If you are planning a visit to the Christmas market, this is the perfect location. The market is less than a 10 minute walk.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room. We had #14, at the end of the hall and very quiet.

I stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip for a convention at the nearby messe hall. The location is outstanding for this purpose, only 2 blocks from the train station on the main street into the old city. Trains available from Munich/airport and Frankfurt airport, about 2 hours from each one. (Munich = 40 min on S bahn, 1 connection then 70 min, Frankfurt = 2.5 hrs from airport). Local Nuremberg subway is approx 15 minutes to the fairgrounds.

In the evenings after the convention we could return to our rooms in less than 30 min, the meet again soon for dinner. There are several good local restaurants within a couple of blocks from this hotel and many more within 20 min walk around the old city. Nuremberg is a charming place, nice to spend a few days.

Upon check-in there was some confusion about my reservation and the clerk said I was "upgraded" to a superior room. I'm not sure how it compared to a "standard" room, but frankly it was still very small like a European single room. The shower and bath were new marble, the bed was comfortable, and the windows could be opened. Maybe the new marble bath was "superior"? In any case, I was comfortable enough there. (One small issue: the bed pillow was like a cream puff, soft but nothing in it. I had to fold the extra bed blanket and put it under the pillow to have enough support. They need to stock some firmer pillows)

Breakfast was okay. There was an assortment of meats, cheeses, fruit, etc. but nothing spectacular. Definitely good enough.

The staff was friendly and made me feel welcome. The building is typical of an older center-city European hotel, a bit worn but working fine.

Overall I enjoyed my trip and would probably choose this hotel again if staying in Nuremberg, for business or for pleasure. The hotel staff and character combined with the great location make it a very good choice.

Some hotels you just love even if there are some small cons. When we entered the hotel and saw the reception which was incorporated in the wall I understood this will be a good night! Walking up the stairs was like staying in a Spanish Parador. The lady in the reception was utterly helpful. We had a superior room (Always book a superior room to avoid getting the hotels smallest rooms)! The room was very nice and the we had a good breakfast in the morning. The cons? The Wifi didn't work in our room and some maintenance work should have been done, but we had a great stay! The position of the hotel is ideal; just a couple of minutes from the railway station and close to everything.
