“Cozy and Clean”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2011

We spent two nights after our cruise that ended in Nuremberg. The entire hotel was sparkling clean and our room on the 3rd floor was cozy and decorated nicely. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom/shower was just as we expected. The breakfast was top notch and included all the nice German touches. They offered coffee in to go cups in the morning hours and apples for a snack in the afternoon. The hotel has no air-conditioning and we needed it even in April. Even though the window opens there was no breeze so you are pre-warned. They charge for internet and considering the room rates are so high I feel they should have included this feature. There are lots of restaurants and pubs within walking distance.

Fine for a one night stay. Staff costumes are traditional and made me smile. Rooms look like they haven't been decorated for about 25 years. Location is not right in the centre of the city. Breakfast room is an odd shape so many diners are sitting in the lobby. Okay, but quite expensive for the price and a bit lacking in facilities.

We were here in September 2010 - now there are new owners running this hotel.
The rooms have been usefully freshened up, and parking while still good , is now more secure due to a closed garage door.
The breakfast is just as good as before , with a wide choice of items.
I will continue to use this hotel - it is very well placed for the City.

This hotel is well located, near the tourist attractions and quite quiet. Parking tight but ok. Breakfast was standard to good. Room was very clean, standard furniture. Bed was comfortable. Prices in the minibar were acceptable. Service at check-in was friendly and efficient, but I was not too pleased with the service at check-out. Furthermore, my luggage was to be stored behind the desk, but when I returned in the late afternoon, I found it laying just next to the counter, where anyone could have taken it (as I did, without any control). Would have been safer to leave my luggage in the car.
Besides this, I was pleased with the hotel for a business trip. I would pay a bit more for a better hotel when on vacation.

Location was great. Beautiful area. We were given a room next to the street and although it is a quite street there was a lot of noise. Because we were there in August, it was a warm. There is no air conditioning, or fans. So we had to open the windows for a little air. It was one of those cases where you either suffer from heat, or stay awake from noise. It was after 2:30 am before it was quite, and noise again at 5:30. Place is dated, but the bathroom was clean. I don't think I would stay her again, mostly because I want some type of air circulation. But if you stay, be sure to get a room far from road.

DURER HOTEL is excelently located in the heart of the old city. rooms are big, nice, clean, very confortable. breakfast buffet excelent. reception services very good, looking forward to help tourists. every major tourist site is at walking distance. if you arrive by plane, do not mess with public transport, take a shuttle from airport - it takes 9 minutes to the hotel. shuttle service you can book by internet at "[--]SHUTTLE SERVICE", mail adrress is [--] They are very prompt, in time, nive behavour, good cars. one shuttle airport hotel is 45 euro.
enjoy Nuremberg !

I have stayed here on a number of occasions over the years - it is very well situated for the city centre , and has it`s own parking.
The breakfast is excellent , although the rooms are a little dated.
The route to the hotel when driving, is at first ,a bit complicated , but if you arrive at the city walls at Haller Tor , it is signposted from there.
Prices are reasonable , and in conclusion I would say it is absolutely fine for a night or two in central Nurnberg.
