“Nice Hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2011

Room was OK for this price.
Hotel staffs were friendly.

I was there at Saturday, so at the night it was a little bit loud, since there is a club downstairs.

Summary: This hotel is OK for budget tourist.
Location is also not so bad.

The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful and the location was a short walking-distance to the Old Town, supermarket etc. I was given an iron and an ironing board for the lenght of our stay.
We booked a Superior room which turned out to be a bit of extra space that was empty except for a folded-up single camp-bed. The lighting was very poor and there was no individual control possible for reading lights. The bathroom was totally inadequate; very tiny with an old shower curtain, it was built almost beside the bed and had a large gap under the door which did not allow for any privacy. The power went off one night and it took several hours before a technician could be contacted to fix the problem. It was not possible to use the bathroom during this time as it was pitch-dark and, of course, the television did not work. Noise from a night-club next-door and from hotel staff smoking and talking outside the back door meant that the double-glazed windows had to be kept closed at all times. The hotel has 103 rooms but the lifts are inadequate to cope with the demand, especially when tour groups arrive. The restaurant is not part of the hotel which meant that all meals, drinks etc had to be paid separately and could not be added on the the general account.
This was the first hotel I have ever stayed in which did not have a bar-fridge in the room.
The breakfast room/restaurant did not belong to the hotel, so we had to pay cash each visit and could not charge the account to our room.

Room Tip: The only rooms which have a chance of being quiet are those facing the street.

We paid Euro 49/night and consider the fee reasonable since its about 15-20 minutes from the Old City by foot. Its a small inn, but the rooms are clean, the beddings is very nice soft and very comfortable. My husband wanted to buy the comforter since it made him sleep better.

There is a vending machine at the basement which sells soda, snacks, coffee, tea and soup(0.60 euros). The basement also has a free sauna which we didnt try, a billiard table and two computers for free use of guests. We used wifi in the room and was charged 5 euros/day.

Parking infront of the hotel is free at the street level but at the hotel its 11euros/night

This is a hotel good for couples but maybe not for teeners or couples with young kids since the alley where it is located looks like a motel and casino area. I would say its one of the cheapest and affordable sleeping areas in Nuremberg

a little hard to find and a bit off the main road. In what appears to be a bit of an odd area at night. A brisk 20 minute walk from the station, better in the daytime than the night. Not that far from the main sites once you get orientated.
Booked the breakfast prior to arrival and the buffet was excellent and staff in eating eara were helpful.
Rooms clean and fairly modern, when we were there did not have an vanity packs as they were all locked away!
On the whole a good place and would return again, they have other hotels and would use them if in the city where they are

We stayed in Nuremberg for 5 days. The Hotel is near too the subway, but is near to a prostitution place. The people in the street near the hotel does'nt look very friendly. But the rooms we're good and coazy. The hotel Bar works like a public Bar at night.

The good, the hotel is clean, and central to the center of Nuremberg and it was not expensive (I payed 44 euros a night without breakfast).

Now for the bad news...we were there in the Summer and it is hot outside. The room was very hot and stuffy since the hotel doesn't have air conditioning. The room we had was on the main road which is a busy noisy place with many people walking around and talking. Because of this we couldn't open the window and got barely any sleep. Even with the window closed the people on the street talking were so loud they woke me up at 5:30.

The room was clean, but the bathroom had an awful smell like the sewer. The smell penetrated the room as well and was disturbing.

One final comment about the room, the bed had largest square big pillows which I found it very difficult to sleep with. I ended up emptying out the pillow case and putting towels in!

Stay at the MotelOne Plärrer, it is very close to this hotel, it has air conditioning, cheaper internet and is just better.

I stayed in the hotel for 5 days for a industry show in Nuremberg. The hotel is convenient, a few blocks away from the public transportation andcity center. Staffs there are professional and friendly. Compared with hotels in USA, this hotel should have no star at most for 1 star, not 3 (even worth than many motels in USA). Rates were very high ($350 dollars each night), even higher than many 5-star hotels in USA. It looks old. Furniture are worn . streets nearby are dirty. Rooms are tiny, no coffee brewer. Internet access is inconvenient and very expense. Parking not is very small and expensive . I won't stay in this hotel again.
