“Fabulous overnight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2013 via mobile

What a fabulous place, After a long drive, we arrived to a very pleasant and helpful receptionist, a fully modernized suite for our family and a great location - walking distance to everything in the old city. Unloading right in front of hotel and parking a little ways down the street ( standard for staying in the center walled cities). Breakfast was great as well. Everything perfect.

I booked this hotel through Booking.com as we wanted somewhere a bit more traditional to stay specifically within the City Walls of Nuremberg Old Town and this was one of the few available for our trip to the Christmas Market.
Very handy for travel from the airport as there is an underground train service direct from the airport to the main rail station (about 12minutes) and then the Hotel is only a 10 minute walk away, or, if you prefer, there is a another closer underground but this involves 1 change.
Nice room with a 4 poster bed and a reasonable size. No tea/coffee making facilities. I had requested a room with a bath but one was not available when we arrived.
Only 36 rooms so cosy. Really nice breakfast.
Located in a quieter area of the Old Town but only 5 minutes walk to the main square.

If you are looking for a Hilton or Marriott - this is not the place for you but if
you are after a well located, functional and pleasant place to rest your weary bones - definitely consider the Hotel Am Josephsplatz.
Location is close to the main marketplace but not in the noisy centre at all.
Breakfast was great as was free wi-fi
We were lucky to receive great service from the lovely young ladies dressed In traditional costume and the more frosty staff certainly thawed out over our 4 night stay.
Would return again if ever in Nuremberg

Our dream of staying in a Romantik hotel turned sour after spending the night with my husband and teenage daughter in this hotel. When we didn't receive a confirmation, my husband mistakenly re-booked a room the night before our arrival. After walking our luggage a considerable distance from the parking to the hotel and getting it to the reception desk, we were greeted by an older staff member barking "you booked two rooms!" at us. Confused, we gave her our name, and she repeated her reproach, before icily checking us in and assuring us that we would be charged for both. The next morning, upon entering the breakfast room and heading for the breakfast bar, another matronly staff curtly demanded what table we were sitting at (apparently you sit down and then go to the bar). This staff checked us out, slightly more pleasantly than the previous night's person, but with the same grim attitude of rebuke. Our mistake cost us two rooms, however the staff's attitude made us "pay far above that" as we felt like the "black sheep at grandma's house". The hotel itself was just slightly above an average hotel in quality (mainly a little more space in the room), and may have been disappointing anyway, even if we hadn't unintentionally disobeyed their breakfast rules or mistakenly double booked. A smile and "so sorry, but you will have to pay anyway" would have gone a long ways to alleviate the pain of double paying. Bad, bad memory for all of us. The city is great, though.

Pleasant quiet traditional hotel in the centre of the old city, a few steps from the metro. Friendly English speaking staff, comfortable rooms, free wi fi, breakfast included - its very difficult to find any criticism at all and would thoroughly recommend it if your visiting Nuremberg.

We spent five nights at this lovely hotel in an apartment which is great for families. The location is great the market place and the burg are not too far away. Most of the inner city is there at your convenience. The rooms are clean and cheerfully decorated. The breakfast room looks homely and Breakfast was great. The reception staff are nice and it is manned 24hours. The buildings are old in the city so some of the steps were a bit uneven, which added to the charm. Only down side was a small bathroom, which served its purpose but only two people can be in there. I would stay here again.

This hotel is located in the heart of Nürnberg. It means the parking is not so easy (parking place is about 200 or 300 meters from hotel, you can stop by the hotel to drop off/pick up the luggage). The rooms are good, breakfast is excellent. The hotel misses something personal, so typical for romantic hotels group. One women in staff had problem with our names on guest card (hard to read) and was really unpleasant. But the rest of staff was really nice and friendly. Stay there if you want some good place to stay for good price.

Room Tip: if you stay in the room facing to street, count with closed windows during the night, you´re in the...
