A truly magnificent fountain. You have to find the Golden Ring and touch it, just this fountain is worth a visit

“Indeed, worthy of being named "The Beautiful Fountain."”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2014

My wife & I visited this touristy section of Nuremberg on Sunday 5/4. It was fun, the surrounding square's architecture was that of a typical German "Old Town," & "The Beautiful Fountain" was, indeed, beautiful, although devoid of any water. Oh, well, we still enjoyed examining the fountain's details & taking pictures....

Then the rest of the square was pleasant for strolling & a snack on a sunny spring day.

“Very impressive and full of small details”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2014 via mobile

Beautiful fountain, in the central market. If you look carefully you will see a golden ring in the upper left side of the small canon, in the iron fence. You have to make a wish and turn the ring three times. Remember not to reveal your secret!

“One of the many stops through NUE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

Schöner Brunnen AKA beautiful fountain is a 14th-century fountain located on Nuremberg's main market next to the town hall and is considered one of the main attractions of the city's Historical Mile. The fountain is approximately 19 meters high and has the shape of a Gothic spire. According to the world wide web the 40 colorful figures that adorn the fountain represent the world view of the Holy Roman Empire. They are philosophy, the seven liberal arts, the four Evangelists, the four Church Fathers, the seven Prince-electors, the Nine Worthies, Moses and seven Prophets (Hosea, Daniel, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Amos, Isaiah and Joel).

Don't forget to find the one Gold ring embedded in the fence surrounding the fountain on the south side, because it is said to bring good luck to those who spin them. (3 times to the right is the legend)

“Didn't know what it was, but it's pretty”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2014

We saw this, took some pictures of it because it's pretty but couldn't figure out what it was. We found no signage. If it's supposed to be a fountain, it wasn't spouting any water when we saw it. We thought it looked like a church spire that was never placed on a church.
