This hotel is around 8 minutes by U-bahn from the altstadt. It is situated on the other side of the meese and a few minutes away from the U-bahn station meese. We had to ask a few people to get to the hotel, but the Nurnbergers helped us very well. You have to use a subway to cross a motorway, as the hotel is situated on a highway. Infact near it, there seems to be no shops. It is very well placed for those who have their own transport. The rooms are very big and clean, and breakfast is fantastic as all Novotels. There is also an outdoor pool but my daughters who tried it found the water cold even though it was the begining of August and the weather was lovely. We had it when there was no exhibitions so it was quite cheap and quiet.

I stayed in the hotel, with my family. The hotel was clean, and the staff friendly. Breakfast, if not included, is 17 or 18 euro per adult I believe. Not bad for a family of four (kids are free), but a little pricey for what you get if there is only two of you. The breakfast is good, and your normal European buffet. Eggs, hot meats, cold meats and cheeses, cereal, yogurt, fruits, breads etc... It was kept fully stocked while we where there, but it was not very crowded.

Rooms where clean and modern. We had a family room, which just has a twin and a couch pulled out, fine for what we needed for one night.

Gym is small, and only elliptical and tread mill type equipment. All appeared new, and the room was clean and included a sauna.

Location - you are in a residential/business area. Not much within walking distance that we saw.

Hints - you are within walking distance of the U1 and U11 lines. Both will take you directly down town, to the tourist areas. However, the station is not really easy to find. Make sure you ask at the desk, and get the map to the station that they can provide.

While the walk is not far, some may not feel comfortable after dark. You must walk through a tunnel. The tunnel is actually the only part of the walk that has good lighting. You then walk through an apartment complex, and get to the station. At night, this is a dark walk and may not make some feel comfortable. However, we did it and had no problems.

Rooms - Careful if you face the entrance, especially if you are on a low floor. Customers and staff come out the front door to smoke, and that can be close to your windows. We could hear everything with the window open.

Room Tip: Rooms - Careful if you face the entrance, especially if you are on a low floor. Customers and staff...

We had 10 rooms booked at the Novetel for a Trade show that we exhibit at every year at Nurnberg Messe.
The service was slow, unhelpful and general of a very poor standard. When you would have thought the Hotel would be very helpful to group booking.
When on one of the nights we booked a table for 15 to have dinner it took over 3 hours for us to all get our main courses, which is just not expectable when it is a Business hotel and they know people are busy. We had to wait about 20 minutes just too get the wine menu! Most days we were working at least 12 hours and were hungry and tired when we got back to the hotel. The food was overpriced and poor quality compared with what we were expecting.
Most of the time no one was on the Bar or you had to go and find them to get a drink. We waited 15minutes one evening as there was not even anyone on Reception.
The twin rooms don’t even have a proper second bed it is a sofa bed which is not the most comfortable.

Over all we were very disappointed and will not return next year.

We used this hotel as a night stop on our way back from the Black Forest to Berlin. The hotel is modern, spotless clean and great for kids. It's a few minutes drive from the freeway and about 10-15 minutes drive from downtown Nuremberg. We got a relatively large room with a double bed + sofa bed + crib. Minor complains about the bathroom:

1. It's impossible to lock it (by design), as we also seen this in another Novotel I can just assume it's some weird Novotel standard.
2. The volume knob (the speaker in the bathroom is connected to the TV) was broken.
3. The bathroom has a very large shower. Too bad they didn't use that space for a bathtub. Would have been much easier to wash the kids.

The hotel has a small play corner for kids including an XBOX, a pool, and some toddler cars around it. There is also a sauna from 17:00 till 21:00.

We skipped breakfast due to the price (18 Eur per adult), instead we went to the better and cheaper breakfast buffet at ALEX in the Nuremberg marktplatz (7 Eur per adult), which was about 10-15 minutes drive.

The rate was a 42 Euro bargain due to a 5 days 50% off sales marathon Accor Hotels held a couple of months before our arrival.

We stopped over at the hotel while driving to Hungary. The building itself doesn't look that modern, but once you go inside you see the hotel was redecorated some years ago. Clean, entertainment for kids, bar, restaurant, terrace and swimming pool. Perfect for what we needed, but not the type of place to stay for more than one night.
Staff at reception was helpful, bar staff was ok.
Great breakfast!

The building - from the outside - is early 80s.
The lobby level is truly beautifully done.
The rooms however are small, especially if you travel with two small children, whom you plan to put up in the same room as the parents.
The biggest negative was the carpet in our room was very dusty (either it was not vacuumed for weeks, or the vacuum cleaner used was clogged).
The breakfast is pricey and the selection moderate.

For some reason, I expected this place to be much more than it was and I was disappointed. That's probably just my own personal issue though! I ended up with a smoking room, having not specified on my booking. The smell was absolutely foul (& I actually smoke occasionally!), made me feel sick as it was so thick and cloying.

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was serviceable - big shower, some toiletries etc.The outdoor swimming pool was only open occasionally (due to the weather) but it was right in front of the bar, which put me off. Again, that's my own issue... on holiday, that would be fine, but less so on a business trip I suppose.

I enjoyed the breakfast - there was a reasonable selection of cold meats, salads, sweet treats, hot food. If it's not included in your room however, then it doesn't seem worth it.

The staff were mostly very pleasant and friendly, though my colleague had some issues on check-in.

Good location for the MesseZentrum but perhaps not for the centre of town.

Room Tip: Ask for a non-smoking room!
