“Wow!!!!!!!! What a hotel!”
Reviewed January 20, 2011

Wow!!!!!

We are frequent tourists to Germany, most recently having just spent 5 weeks touring with our three adult children.

This is 'hands down' the best hotel that we have ever encountered. From the maids to the front desk, everyone was cheerful, efficient and knowledgable and went out of their way to make our stay in Nuremberg special!

They even went the extra mile in procuring soccer tickets for us.
And then because the weather was so cold, offered us each a blanket from the hotel to take to the game!!!

The staff is outstanding!!!!!

On top of that the hotel accommodations were the best of the trip, the breakfast was superb even for our vegetarian children.

This is the hotel for us whenever we are in Nuremburg.

This hotel is in a very good location, next to the subway and the train station. I stayed there for four nights, but I was not lucky, since I probably got one room which was not very good. Most of the rooms in this hotel were excellent (some of my colleagues stayed there) and with a great view on the street. However, mine was small and claustrophobic, with only one window seeing the flat roof. So, if you stay in this hotel keep in mind and ask for a room with street view. The breakfast was amazing and really cheap.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Victoria for three nights. As others have mentioned, the location of the hotel is convenient to both the central train station, the old town (Altstadt), and is directly across the street from the tourist office. If arriving by train, take the escalators down to the basement level and follow the signs to the Altstadt. At the top of the pedestrian ramp, the hotel is immediately on your left.

The hotel, while maintaining its beautiful period architecture outside, has been modernized inside. I requested, and received, a room that faced the courtyard to the museum at the rear of the hotel on the top floor. The very clean and tidy room was of average size and contained a small desk, flat screen TV, and mini-bar. The bathroom was small and only had a shower but was clean and well maintained. A nice amenity for the guest was a selection of different types of pillows that could be requested from the front desk. This room at the back of the hotel was very quiet.

The buffet breakfast that was included with my room rate was fairly extensive and included a variety of cold cereals, fresh and dried fruits, baked goods and pastries, and a couple of hot dishes (eggs, potatoes, sausages, etc.). Coffee, a variety of teas, and fruit juices were also available.

The hotel's most redeeming quality is their wonderful staff. Everyone I had contact with, front desk personnel, restaurant personnel, and housekeeping staff were uniformly friendly and always willing to help with any questions or requests. Photos of the staff are posted in the elevator along with their names and a warm welcome.

I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to my next visit. The photos already posted for this hotel are an accurate depiction of the furnishings in the room in which I stayed.

I got a slightly larger room though I was traveling solo, and was very happy. The room was nice, relaxing....though I didn't have a broad view of the city, I did enjoy my windows facing the old town wall. The staff were uniformly kind and helpful; the breakfast was very good.
Hotel Victoria is just across from the train station, and an easy walk to all of the attractions.
I would love to visit Nuremberg again, and, if I do, I will be sure to stay here.

Spent 3 nights at the Hotel Victoria in Nuremburg on my first ever visit to Nuremburg. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the main train station which worked for me since I was traveling by train. The hotel is located at the foot of Konigstrasse - which is the main street running through the heart of old Nuremburg. Up Konigstrasse from the hotel is the shopping district, the main market square and up a hill to the Kaiser Castle. Walking time from the hotel to the foot of the castle was about 25 -- 30 minutes. Many restaurants and shops were located either on Konigstrasse or 1-2 blocks off in either direction.

The single room was of decent size and modern and clean. Bathroom was decent sized too. The breakfast was above average in assortment and included in the cost of the room. There was also a small room with a couple of computer terminals that were available for free for access.

The front desk was very helpful and their English was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

My buddy and I stopped in Nuremberg for the night, and we ended up staying here. This was a nice find. The room was affordable, near the train station, and inside the city center.

It was about a five minute walk from the main market square.

The complimentary breakfast was above average.

We spent a total of four nights here in mid-August. We drove in a rental car after having arrived earlier in the day in Munich.

The hotel is, as others have said, on the ende of the old town area and it is more or less directly across the street from the main railway station as well as within site of the hotel Le Meridien. If you know your way around the city, driving-wise, it isn't all that hard to find but having a GPS with the address helped a great deal.

We arrived after lunchtime and were told our room was ready but that we had been upgraded to the hotel's one junior suite. Upgrades happen for a reason and often for the hotel's convenience and when I asked specifically why I was told the room we had booked had had the carpeting replaced that day and could not be cleaned in time, hence the upgrade.

My only concern was the fact6 that the room we had origiunally booked has air conditioning and the junior suite does not. Turns out this was not a problem, at all, but more on that in a moment.

The junior suite has a large balcony which it shares with one room adjacent (a double)...that room's portion of the balcony is small compared to the area alloted to the junior suite which contains a table, chairs, umbrella, etc., and faces a large courtyard area situated between the hotel's rear and the "modern art" museum across the way; the Nurnberg town wall provides the backdrop along one side of this courtyard.

If you look at the traveler-posted pictures you can see the junior sutite layout which is a more or less "open plan" with the bedroom and sitting area adjoining the bath; there is a separate shower area in addition to the handheld provided in the free-standing tup.

No air conditioning but lots of windows which open fully and a powerful ceiling fan. Fortunately there was little humidity while we stayed and this despiute some periods of rain so we felt very comfortable temperature/comfort-wise in this room and it is MUCH larger than ANY of the other rooms in the hotel. The length of this room is a good 33 feet.

Immaculate housekeeping; furnishings in excellent repair as was the carpet and fixtures. Bed was the expected FIRM type which we prefer and the staff were absolutely excellent and a joy to deal with at every level.

The breakfast buffet is extensive to include both hot and cold items..plenty to eat and a very nice variety of foods to choose from; one of the better ones we have experienced.

Location: if you want to be IN the old town area you absoluetly cannot beat the location and there are many MANY restaurants nearby as well as shopping of various types.

Parking: the hotel has a number of spaces in a nearby garage allocated. The garage is less than a five-minute walk away and for a daily charge you get unlimited in and out
priviledges. We found it convenient and easy to use.

The main railway station is, as I said, an easy walk away as are the various S-bahn routes.

Overall we were VERY pleased with this choice and would certainly stay here again without any hesitation.
