“Great location otherwise average”

Very easy walk from the train station- you can't miss it. Staff were friendly and efficient during check in.
The rooms are tiny and the bathroom even smaller. If you are overweight you would not fit in the bathroom.
It is clean, quiet and the hotel makes an effort to be environmentally friendly. Breakfast was ok.
I would not stay here again due to the room size.

A hotel with an amazing location right on the heart of Old Nuremberg. Hotel Victoria is across the train station with underground passage (and shops) for convenient and easy access. It’s a charming hotel with warm, friendly staff. It is clean and well-kept and offers complimentary breakfast. The only downside, for a tea person like me, is the absence of in-room tea facility - even a kettle, mug and some tea, esp during winter time, would be enough. But you can ask reception and they would gladly provide enough hot water for a cup or two, or go to the lobby for complimentary tea or coffee. Also, WIFI connection has to be renewed at the reception desk every day. But overall, I would recommend the hotel for its cleanliness, attentiveness and its convenient location to wonderful Old Town Nuremberg.

Dear Lyn,

we thank you very much for the time you invested in writing this review for us.
We are sorry that we could not completely fulfill your expectations!
We take your hint concerning tea/coffee making facilities seriously and will install it soon.
If you come back to Nuremberg once, we hope to be able to convince you with this new service!
Due to security reasons we work with an internet providing system that requires a new password every 24 hours. But also this fact will be improved in the future!

Our best regards,

I spent three nights at this hotel at the end of December. The hotel is perfectly located for tourists: directly across from the train station just inside the old city walls. Check-in was efficient and my room was on floor two. I wouldn't call it a room so much as a cell. Tiny. I've stayed in many European hotels and this one take the cake for small. I'm well aware that the website points out it's size but until one experiences it than you can't appreciate it. My advice: book a larger room since they have them.

More about the room: they don't supply any toiletries beyond soap but you can call to the front desk and have some delivered. This is fine but IMHO reeks of cheapness. Bavarians are know for watching their pennies, but really? Have a bottle of lotion available in the room, please. The rooms are very stark, low pile carpet, very basic furnishings. A nice feature is a pillow menu.

The staff was all very gracious, particularly the female desk agent in the morning - what a lovely person!. The breakfast was ample and very tasty.

So, in conclusion, the reason this hotel gets a Very Good score is because of the location - it can't be beat.

Room Tip: A room facing the museum might be quieter

Dear BobZAtlanta_Ga,

we thank you very much for your Tripadvisor review about your Hotel Victoria stay.
We are aware that some of our rooms are quite small, this is why we offer ample opportunities to linger: our wintergarden with library, our bar and our lobby as well as our spacious and lightly furbished breakfast room.
Of course we suppose of more spacious rooms. Every category is exactly described on our hotel website and mentiones the respective size.
We are a 3-star-hotel with no claim to be luxurious but with high demands in service quality and professionalism.
The fact that we are not providing toiletries in every room is not an economy measure but an egolocical one. We have made the experience that guests only use a very little quantity and the majority has to be thrown away. Therefore we offer all the guests supplies on request.

I thank you for the compliments regarding our team and breakfast! Those are important concerns to us.
Our location offers our guests the opportunity to reach every attraction very easily and to spend fabulous days in our great city.
We would be very happy to welcoming you again in Nuremberg!

Best regards,

Katharina Mirsberger

I just finished staying three nights here with my mom. You will see many different room types and sizes on their website, so you should think carefully before booking. I booked two single Relax rooms for us because I thought the rooms looked small on their website. This was a wise decision. We liked the rooms but there really was just enough room for one person, let alone two, in the room.

The bed was comfortable and I had no trouble with obtaining hot water in the shower or water pressure. Even with the radiator turned off, we thought the rooms was warm, however, but we were able to open a window to let air in. There was also a fan in the room but we did not need that. There was very little noise from the courtyard below. WIFI worked great from the room and it is free when you book the room through their website. There was only one English channel on the TV but we were not here to watch the TV, so that was OK. However, I think they could add more English channels in the future.

As many people have noticed, the location of this hotel is ideal in Nuremberg. It is directly across the street from the main train station (as well as the bus to Prague). It was only a 10-minute walk to the famous Christmas market.

The breakfast was excellent and is included with the price of the room The was a huge variety of hot and cold items to pick from each morning. You should plan a leisurely breakfast, so you can enjoy all they have to offer. I especially like the Muesli and fruit. They had 8 different varieties of tea and coffee is brewed freshly for each guest as they enter the breakfast room.

Room Tip: I would try to get a room on a lower floor. The elevator is small and slow. You may find walking t...

Dear ChinaShrek,

Thank you very much for the time you took to write us this detailed review about your stay at the Victoria!
Only with the feedback of our guests we are able to improve our service. As our hotel is a listed building from 1896, some of our rooms are smaller than others. We are subject to many regulations concerning remodeling measures but constantly invested in renovation works in the last years and will continue in the future. Within this projects we will also re-organize some rooms regarding storage spaces etc..

Our team always tries to make every stay a special moment for every guest! Another thank you for your compliments about our breakfast buffet!

We would be happy to welcoming you again and to spoil you with the special Victoria feeling!

We visited Nuremberg for the Christmas markets and had an excellent stay at the Victoria. We had a room that was plenty big for me, my husband plus my 9 and 2 year old daughters. The room we stayed in had a small sofa that opened to a single bed and the hotel let us borrow their baby cot. The room was quite large especially by European standards. The bed my husband and I shared was a platform style bed and we both slept really well. We used the parking as well. It was close by and very nice + super secure! Breakfast had lots of options for everyone.
Location is great for seeing the city as it is inside the old city walls.
The only downsides to this hotel was the noise on saturday night. Our room faced the main street and as there are bars/pubs just next door, all the smokers gather just in front of the Victoria until the wee hours of the morning. Every other night was very quiet. Other downside to our room was the lack of a tub in our tiny bathroom. Since I have 2 year old, this means that every time she needed a bath, I had to take a shower with her. Not ideal but not that bad either.
The value for money was excellent. We stayed 4 nights during the peak season with the cot in the room, parking in a secured garage, breakfast each day and free wifi for less than 600 GBP. In my book, that's a pretty good deal for a family of 4.
We will be recommending this hotel to friends and family. We will definitely stay here if we ever come back to Nuremberg!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 102. The room was really large and fit all 4 of us including a cot/crib for the ba...

We stayed at Hotel Victoria for 2 nights in early December, on a Christmas Market trip through Bavaria & Austria. The location is absolutely ideal-- we took the train from Munich airport, and the hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from the train station, inside the old city walls & right down the street from the main square/ Christkindl Mart. Our room was spacious, quiet, clean & comfortable. Numerous restaurants & bars nearby. Staff was friendly & accommodating ( including helping us decipher recorded German message from our rental car co ). Would definitely stay here on any future trips to Nuremberg.

Central location was perfect as we were able to walk up the pedestrian tunnel from the train station and be in the hotel within 5 minutes of steeping off the ICE. Our room was small but adequate. Breakfast room lacked atmosphere, but it seemed in the nature of the hotel - boutique and a focus on quick effective service. Reasonably quiet - a couple of late night revellers only on the second night woke us.
