“The place to stay in Nuremberg”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2013

This is a lovely small hotel in a perfect location. Though it is very close to the railway station, the rooms at the back are quiet and overlook the Neues Museum. It is also close to shops and restaurants. The staff are great - very friendly and willing to help. I had a small problem with one of the fittings in the bathroom, which was sorted immediately. The single rooms are quite small but I prefer to pay a sensible rate for that than have a massive double - at a massive double price - just for myself. Breakfast is excellent. Throroughly recommended.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front could be noisy as they overlook a busy street. If you want quiet, ask for one...

What a wonderful stay! The staff was very welcoming at check-in, and in providing help during our stay.
The room is spacious and very comfortable. Lots of storage, good work area, and walking space.
The beds are among the nicest we had during our trip, with very good quality mattresses, linens, and pillows.
Breakfast was also great. Nice variety and, again, great service.
The hotel is extremely well located: within the city walls, and so close from the main train station, that you could hit it with a rock.
If back at Nuremberg, would not bother to look elsewhere.
I am completely satisfied (and so is my wife).

Dear fcgg,

we are very happy about your great comment on Tripadvisor.
It is a pleasure to read about your satisfaction!
I will forward your compliments to all my colleagues. Our team always tries to make every stay a special moment for every guest!
It is our challenge to be different than other "normal" hotels - if you are looking for hotels like ours we can recommend you the PrivateCityHotels.
Just have a look on the website to find other privately run hotels in Germany and Austria.

We would be very glad to welcoming you again once you return to Nuremberg.

My husband and I stayed in Nuremberg over Columbus Day weekend. We chose Hotel Victoria for its location and reviews. We traveled with our small dog and were pleasantly surprised to find a bowl, blanket, and bag of treats waiting for him in the room. The room was small for the price, but it was clean and in an excellent location.

The parking garage was very close by and secure so we didn't have to worry about our car. The breakfast in the hotel was a great way to start our day. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay again.

My first stay for my first european trip couldn't have started off better. Excellent location because it was just a 5 min walk from the central train station and inside the city center where there are many castles and attractions to see. It almost seemed like I was staying in a old charm castle (though I think it was next door). The breakfast buffet was amazing and by far the best of all the places I stayed at. The value is amazing for the location, clean and updated room, friendly staff and breakfast just can't be beat. I will return here if I'm ever in this area again.

It's difficult to add anything new is this case of a hotel reviewed this much and ranked so highly. It is well located, right across the street from the train station, clean, modern with a very knowledgeable and helpful staff. ( Hint: When you walk out of the front of the train station, you see the hotel looming right in front of you. We walked about a 100 yards to the right to find a crosswalk then up the street back to the hotel. I discovered after a few days there that the entrance to the metro goes under the street and comes out right at the hotel front door. Takes about 5 minutes.). The rooms were smallish, with simple, light colored furnishings. Nothing elaborate but clean lines. Bath was newish and modern. The best thing about the place was an almost lavish breakfast buffet served in a light and airy dining room with fresh flowers on each table. There are young women taking care of the tables and buffet and all were very efficient and friendly.

There is a plaza behind the hotel and evidently food is served. I never quite got how that worked and where the food came from. Nonetheless, the hotel gives you a complimentary drink back there.

There is a Laundromat about a mile from the hotel, that is a pretty easy walk. (There are actually two very close to each other but this one comes first and is more modern and clean looking.) If you are not from there, or read German, you best have one the hotel ladies explain the procedure to you.

For a different exposure and relief from the tourist area, there is a beer garden, a big one, about 3 or 4 blocks from the hotel. You might ask again for the name and exact location of it, but if you walk straight out the door of the hotel across the street and continue straight ahead down the small street you will come to it. It is sort of enclosed in a garden like structure. Lot's of young people, and some pub grub is served as well.

Room Tip: get high up to avoid noise.

We arrived in Nurnberg in February 2013 for a one night layover between Munchen and Berlin. The hotel was easily and quickly accessed from the train station. Magdelena's warm welcome was much needed on a dark day! She couldn't have been more helpful. We were able to get into our large, well-appointed room early. On our way out to explore, we were offered an umbrella as the light snow had turned to snow mixed with rain!

Breakfast was truly grand as they served REAL maple syrup----always the mark of true hosts! also, i should note the placement of a heated towel rack in the bathroom as that makes for quick drying of socks as well as towels!!

we did not wander as far as the old town since the day was short (mid-winter) and the weather a bit tricky but other sights were to be seen and i shall review them elsewhere on trip advisor.

i would stay here again without hesitation! that is always my bottom line.

We really loved our stay at the Hotel Victoria. It's in a great location close to the railroad station and minutes from the old town area and castle. We reserved a parking place in advance which proved to be a great idea as it was just a block walk down the street in a private garage. We only reserved a standard room, but the room was one of the biggest we had in Germany, with all the amenities. The breakfast was wonderful, lots of choices. The people at the front desk were wonderful and very helpful explaining the maps and what to do. There are many places to eat and drink nearby. The day we were there, they were celebrating a local festival down along the river, and they had many outside beer gardens set up with lots of wonderful food and of course fantastic beer! We enjoyed walking around the town and visiting the castle. If we ever come back to Nuremburg, we will definitely stay at the Hotel Victoria again.
