“Spotless room, service and breakfast - why not four star?”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

We, a family of four came relatively late in the evening to the Victoria. The streets were crowded with people due to a street musician festival. The Victoria is located on right next to the old city walls and tower, and right on the street you find restaurants bars and takeaway food.
We stayed in a newly renovated room on the fourth floor in the room 451. Everything very stylish and of high quality. If you ever stayed at the Palazo Zichy in Budapest, this hotel is much of the same style. The room was large enough for all four.
We found the hotel very focused on quality. If you fancy drinking tea, we did in particualar found the breakfast tea bar of a quality we never have seen before. Only thing we wondered about: why has this hotel only three stars?

What a fantastic hotel! The location was great, the staff was wonderful, the room was well appointed, and even breakfast was really good. We did the Comfort Room, so we did have a working A/C unit in the room, though we didn't need it on the cooler day that we were in Nuremberg. One other benefit of the Comfort Room, besides the spectacular view of the King's Tower and a little village on the side of the building, is the fact that it has windows on two sides. This let us have an excellent cross breeze right through the room.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone, and in fact, cannot wait to stay there again on our next visit to Nuremberg, as we did not spend enough time there to see the city. Thanks, Hotel Victoria!

Room Tip: Choose the comfort room, if it's available!

Despite the hotel being in a busy area, our room was quiet, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. OK no air con, however the fan worked fine and with temperatures of 30 degrees during our stay it was essential and efficient.
Staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast room was lovely and although the hotel was fully booked during our 3 night stay, we had no part problems getting a table and the food was fresh, good quality and plentiful.
Very convenient for the main railway station, just a few minutes walk and lots of restaurants and shops on the doorstep including a supermarket.
Only negative which would be a problem for older guests, the in room safe is at the bottom of the wardrobe, so had to kneel down to access it.
If we ever get back to Nuremberg would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If you need a quiet room during the day, specify that you don't want to be near the fountain at...

Pleasant enough but quite basic. A hot stuffy night and, as there was no A/C, together with the noise on the street, it made for very uncomfortable sleeping. Service friendly enough. Nice central location.

Room Tip: Ask for high room not on main street side

Dear Gidaye,

we are sorry that you could not fully enjoy your stay due to heat and noise on the street. As our hotel is located in the center of Nürnberg, it happens that you hear the people passing by during the night. Unfortunately we cannot influence this fact. We would be glad to welcoming you again if you return to Nürnberg!

Booked a stay here as part of a motorbike tour of Germany and Austria. First visit to the city, and not too much time, so wanted somewhere central.

The Hotel is easy to find, and well located for the interesting bits of the old city (and the shopping facilities of the new). The room was immaculate, and well equipped. The Hotel was spotless throughout, and the staff helpful at all times.

Parking was at an underground garage a couple of back streets away, and the instructions on how to get there and get in didn't include anything on getting out again once the bike was parked. This resulted in me having to set off the fire alarms! However, one the doors was released as a result, and nobody gave me any funny looks as a left (quickly), so no harm done!

We didn't eat here in the evening, but the breakfast was excellent with all the normal range of German grub available.

Well deserving of it's high rating

Dear Mick,

Thank you very much for your comment on Tripadvisor.

We are sorry that the way out of our underground garage was not explained clearly enough.
The instructions with photos how to get there also include the explanations for the way out. Normally we offer our guests to take the instructions for the 200 meters with them to make sure that any incoveniences are avoided.

Perhaps you once come back to Nürnberg - we would be happy to welcoming you at Victoria again!

Family with 2 kids (8 + 9), we stayed 1 night in this nice and well located hotel. The hotel is in the center of the old town and perfectly situated for a city visit or shopping tour. The garage is a few blocks away. On the back side of the hotel is a terrasse outside with a water fountain (great area for kids). Staff was very friendly, rooms nice and clean.

we thank you for this nice review and are happy to hear that the whole family enjoyed the stay at the Victoria. Indeed our location offers so many options for everybody as it is so central in the city.

The hotel is in Nuremberg city centre, right in front of the main train station (not noisy though), really easy to reach with the U-bahn from the airport, line U2 and 15 minutes later you're at houptbahnhof station and the exit to Altstadt takes you right to the door of Victoria.
The hotel is immaculate clean, really friendly staff, always ready to help.
the only downside is there's no air conditioning and this July it was 30°C in Nuremberg, there's a fan in the wardrobe though for guest to use.
Also bathroom was not so big, the shower was great, but the towels hanging beside the sink were on top of the toilette, but not a problem.
Breakfast was great, special mention to the great selection of teas, but you can have anything, coffee, yoghurt, cereal, jams, really nice cakes, and a vary selection of cured meats anything for every taste.
If I will be back to Nuremberg I will surely stay at Victoria again.

Dear tantalidi,

Great to hear that you liked your stay at the Victoria and that you were happy with room and breakfast.
We know that in summer it gets sometimes quite warm in our rooms but as a listed monument and due to economical reasons we dispence with an air conditioning.
...and also the "real summer" in Nürnberg is so short (unfortunately :-)) that the heat is only an issue during some weeks.

We would be very glad to welcoming you again once you return to Germany!
