“lovely spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

We stayed at hotel Victoria for 3 nights December 2012 on the basis of Tripadvisor recommendations and were not disappointed. Small but very clean room, with a wonderfully comfy bed (though seemingly standard two single beds rather than a double). Outstanding breakfast and wonderful staff - Sarah and the team went out of their way to help us, including helping us set up SIM cards for our phone (very hard to navigate for us non-german speakers). Highly recommend.

We stayed here for 2x nights on the recommendation of Trip Advisor and were totally delighted with this hotel. The location is so easy - across the road (but use the under path) from the main train station, and it is just inside the city wall. The staff were friendly, professional and spoke excellent English. The room was modern, very clean, and had a lovely view. The breakfast buffet was incredible, everything you could want. We would definitely stay here again. Oh and free wifi in the rooms.

Close to the heart of the old town and Christmas markets. Very nice location and amenities. Friendly staff! Excellent breakfast included! Heated towel rack in bathroom is an example of the upgrades here. Highly recommend to couples or families.

We stayed in the Hotel Victoria for two days and we thought it was a very nice hotel. The rooms are nice, clean, and quite modern. While the bathroom in our double was a little on the small side, it didn't really bother us.

The location is outstanding in that it is in the old town immediately outside the tunnel that goes to the train station. However, this could be a negative if you are sensitive to noise in that people do tend to congregate there and there is a bar right below the hotel. Our room was on the front side of the hotel and had a great view but there was also some noise (which we expected and were ok with).

The staff were very friendly and helpful, although the girl who was working the desk by hersefl the first night of our stay was brand new and didn't know the answers to a couple of our questions. The management probably should have had someone work with her for a few nights.

The one negative was the WiFi and I hate to say it but it was a fairly big negative. We were afforded free WiFi access due to the level of room we reserved so the cost of it wasn't an issue. However, we could not get a signal in our rooms on any of the devices (tablet, phone, laptop) that the three of us were carrying and we had to go outside of our room to communicate with loved ones back home. In addition, the system they use issues a single user name and password that cannot be used by more than one person. So, each person in your party has to have their own username and password AND it expires in 24 hours so you have to go back to the front desk and get new ones for everyone in your party.

This really isn't acceptable in a hotel of the caliber of the Victoria. Given how electronically connected we are in today's world, WiFi should be available and usable in all parts of the hotel and the process to connect should be simple and easy. I wouldn't mind paying the $5.00 per day (as long as I know about it up front) BUT I would expect a flawless connection similar to what I have at home. That was not the case in the hotel Victoria and we ended up deciding that it was more trouble than it was worth to connect.

We urge the management to work on this issue as it was really the only negative about the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front of the hotel have a great view but can have some noise. We booked a double for us...

Dear benfbrown
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a comment. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay and appreciate our great location. Unfortunately some of our rooms have very strong fire protecting doors and it could be difficult to connect to the internet. We are working on that case. For our guests we offer free WiFi in our lobby and we have a computer in our winter garden which everyone is welcome to use. Instead of this we have special business rooms for people who need the internet very often. We hope to welcome you again in the hotel VICTORIA in Nuremberg.

Hotel Victoria is in a walking distance to the main places to visit in the old town of Nuremberg. The apartment was clean, quiet and confortable, breakfast was very good and the people from the hotel helpful to give any info you would need. Great place for a day trip or longer stay in Nuremberg, which by the way is an incredible city.

I stayed here alone on my first night of my overseas trip. The hotel was so easy to find straight next to the underground tunnel from the train. The staff were amazing, spoke great English and were helpful answering all my questions about directions and things to see. The single room was lovely with a beautiful view over the little xmas market next door. The location was close to everything in the old city with all the xmas markets in close proximity. Breakfast was amazing with everything you could want. I also got a lovely present from the staff when checking out. Highly recommended place to stay in Nuremberg.

Room Tip: I had a view of the courtyard next door which had a little xmas market just lovely.
