“A short family get together.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights at the end of June.
The room was spacious, clean, with adequate storage space and a small balcony. The only negative point was that it was very warm and stuffy. We did manage to control this by opening the window and the door to the balcony to get some airflow, and were thus able to get a comfortable sleep at nights.
The food provided at breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of fruit, cheeses, breads and cold meats. The staff at reception were hospitable and helpful.
It is well situated just outside the city walls, near the castle, and it's about a 15 minute walk into the town centre.
There were 8 of us staying in the hotel and we were all very happy with it. I would certainly recommend the hotel to others wishing to visit Nuremberg.

This hotel is in a good location, easy to reach from the A3 motorway and about 20 minutes' walk from the Old Town through the castle.Reception staff gave us a warm welcome and organised a taxi for us. Underground parking was available but we managed to park in the street.
Our room was basic but spacious and clean, with an outlook to the back of the building so street noise was not a problem. The bed was large and comfortable and bathroom facilities were good. A very good buffet breakfast was served in the restaurant.
Overall, this was a bargain in what can be an expensive city for hotels.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is within 5 minute walking distance of the Kaulbachplatz U-Bahn Station. It is located just outside the Old City, but one can walk to the old city from the hotel. To get to the Hautbahnhof by U-Bahn takes approximately 10 or 15 minutes. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Room was clean. Wi-fi was available in the room. Great hotel to stay at for a reasonable price.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was a little put off by some of the reviews on here. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was a good size, clean, had a small kitchen and a fridge....I wasn't planning on cooking but it was nice to have the option. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was quite nice...not exactly a 5 star buffet but good enough. The hotel is very close to the castle, its about 10mins on foot. Its really quite a decent hotel, its no Ritz but it helped in what was altogether a very nice stay Nuremburg.

Pretty basic rooms, convenient reasonably priced underground parking with the exit to the reception area. Good quality/price ratio, clean rooms, paper tissues, built in shampoo, old fashioned CRT TV, complimentary water. Pretty close but not next door to the city center, 5 minutes walk to the castle and 15 minutes to the city center through the bridge and the castle. Way back from the Markt platz is uphill, please add few more minutes and get prepared morally :-)
Couple of visible power outlets. Beds are fine but not exceptional.

I was a little concerned by some of the negatives read on here before travelling but after a 3 day stay i can report that this hotel is an excellent one although is probably in the 3 star area. The first thing worth pointing out is the staff are very nice and extremely helpful, most speak good English. They allowed storage of luggage before and after check in/out. Breakfasts at 10 euros is good value since you can eat/drink all you want and there is scrambled eggs and sausages aplenty. There is a bar at night with a good selection of drinks although not too atmospheric. Rooms are big and the ensuite is fine although the odd whiff may be noticeable from the drain. Bed is comfy although the pillows were rubbish, for me anyway. Its good value and very close to the castle or entrance into the old town although be prepared for a steep walk back from the old town. There are other ways but longer. One last thing - there are no tea/coffee facilities which almost knocks a star off. To summarise i would recommend and visit again myself but take a travel kettle.

Room Tip: there are Lifts but the 3rd floor may be the best. The 4/5th floors need two separate lift journeys.

The hotel is situated within walking distance of the castle and many of the main sights in Nuremberg's old town. The hotel is large and the rooms are spacious and clean, however both breakfast and wifi cost extra. While staff were not unfriendly, they had a rather bored and indifferent attitude. Despite that, I would recommend this hotel for a short stay in the city due to its good location and comfortable facilities.
