“Genuine and friendly atmosphere.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

If in Nürnberg, do not miss to have a meal at Zum Guldenen Stern. A restaurant with very genuine and friendly atmosphere. They mainly serve sausages and a few other meat dishes, but that contributes to the genuinity.

“Bratwurst kitchen in an old house”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

It's pretty much bratwurst, potatoes, sauerkraut, and beer. Not much else. The bratwurst is good, but not exceptional given the "history" of this place. May be we were expecting this to be a bit more unusual. It's nice to be in a restaurant since the Middle Ages though. Reasonable value. A plate of 8 bratwurst cost about 9 €.

“As recommended by a local”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

We were taken here by our German supplier who highly recommended it, for a true taste of German beers and sausages.
Try the soup for starters, both were good, followed by 2-8 Nuremberg sausages (they are smaller and spicer than a bratwurst), try with the Potato salad, which taseda bit like a harden apple sauce.
The restaurant is over 500 years old and they still cook on a open fire
Overall nice place to have lunch, but be aware it does get really busy with the locals

“Smokey Bavarian Feast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2012

Just off the main square this restaurant is always packed. No need to book but be patient and you will be rewarded with the traditional Bavarian feast. The smokey atmosphere wafts the aroma of Barwtwurst suasages throughout this wooden eatery.

“Gourmet Bratwurst, Great Beer, Gemütliche Atmosphere!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2012

Not exactly haut-cuisine, but the little Nuremberg sausages and pork grilled in front of you are very good indeed. We tried the local dark (Dunkles Bier) that most other people seemed to be drinking and were not disappointed. Having has soup to start, we were well satisfied with our 2 courses. The busy atmosphere was authentic, but the whole restaurant was friendly, welcoming and typically “cosy”. On top of all that, it was great value!
