“Good, affordable hotel next to old town. Spot on location for tourists to stay”
Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for two weeks of business visit and i'm not dissapointed.

Rooms are clean and tidy. Double beds TV and desk with chair. Wifi included.
Staff very friendly and speaking english too.

Only two things bothered me:

Hotel parking is not free and they charge 15E/night which is way too much in my opinion. Parking on the street is free between 8pm and 8am following day. I agreed with manager that if i'm hoing to stay in hotel for couple of hours between finishing work and heading out for dinner thay wont charge me but if I'll leave car overnight I'll pay. At least that as afternoon is quite busy and there is no space outside even on the meters.

Breakfast is not included and it cost 14E each day but it is good as they have continental bar and rest of the stuff so you can have full english lacking only beans.

Prime location for anyone who plans on visiting old town and surroundings.
Close to airport (15min drive) and train station (15 min walk).

Generally recommended and happy with stay but car park charges are way to high.

Dear daniel79x, Thank you very much that you have chosen the Hotel Park Inn by Radisson in Nuremberg for your two weeks stay! We highly appreciate that you took the time to send us some feedback and shared your experiences at our property. As we have set-up the charges for our garage we have made a little research and the prices are in average in line with other hotels in Nuremberg as well as “public” parking garages in the city. However we are very happy that we have found a solution suitable for both sides. In case you need to come back to Nuremberg and decide again for the Park Inn by Radisson, which will be of course, highly appreciated by us, we recommend to book our “bed and breakfast rate” where breakfast is included. Thank you again for booking Park Inn by Radisson and sharing you experiences with is very important for us in order to learn if our product and services are in line with our guests needs. Yours sincerely – Markus Thomka – Hotel Manager

The Park Inn by Radisson Nurnberg is a decent cheap hotel.

However, make sure to check were your room is. There is a side of the hotel where you have a street and train tracks so it gets really loud at time.

The rooms are really small, especially if you get a single bed. Anyone taller then 1m90 will struggle to fit in the bed.

The breakfast is decent, with a surprising ammount of choice but the quality of the food is average.

See that as a Ryanair-like experience, it gets the job done for the price, but if you can get a good deal in one of the boutique hotels in Nurnberg, you are much better off.

Finally, the location is a little annoying. It is almost too far from the train station to walk, especially with luggage but too close to take a taxi. I will not go there again if I can help it.

Dear cyagen, Thank you very much for sharing your experiences and giving us some feedback.
Keeping in mind, that we offer reasonable rates I personally wouldn’t not rate us “cheap” as our pricing as well as our services are indeed in line with our competitors and the local market.
I feel very sorry, that our central location did not suit your needs. However I am totally with you, that our guests shall inform as with their booking or at least up on check-in, about their room location preferences as we have a lot of rooms located either on higher floors or facing the inner court-yard even when all of our room have sound-proof windows.
Your comment regarding the bed size it of course highly appreciated and will be for sure taken into our medium or long term investment plans in order to offer a contemporary product in the future. However there is always the possibility to book a double room with a double or king-size bed for single use at a little surcharge between 10 or 20 Euros.
We as a midmarket hotel offering reasonable rates combined with high standards of service supported by our “Yes I Can” service philosophy are very thankful that you have mentioned the difference between us and your mentioned “boutique hotels”. Of course there is a difference between those and us and in my personal opinion this is the way as it should be.
Regarding the distance between the main station and us you are absolutely right. You can make it within 10 or 15 minutes, depending on the luggage you are traveling with. Of course you can also take a taxi for approximately 6 to 9 Euros however you can also take the tube which brings you to us by only one stop for 2.50 Euros.
Regretfully we have noticed your footnote. In case you would like to give us a second chance I would be really happy to receive a direct note from you as I am hoping that your impression would be different by giving you the right room in a more silent location in order to follow your personal expectations more than during your first visit. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly via markus.thomka@rezidorparkinn.com in case there is anything I can do to get this “second chance” from you.
Thank you again for sharing your honest feedback with us. Yours sincerely – Markus Thomka – Hotel Manager

The room was immaculate and the bed very comfortable. But there was inadequate space for two people. There was not enough room for our suitcases - only one chair and a very narrow desk. so one suitcase was on the desk and the other suitcase was on the floor. this left almost no walking around room. This said, everything else about the hotel was fine. Breakfast was really good and the waitstaff couldn't have been nicer.
Location for getting into the old town was fairly good. We were in Nuremberg to go to the christmas market so it was a busy time of year. This hotel, while reasonably priced for the time of year, was more than we like to pay. We were arriving by bus at the main train station and wanted a hotel that was within walking distance of that location and the old town. Pricewise, a little high but overall, we were very satisfied.

We were given a great welcome, checked in efficiently and had a quiet room on the first floor. The room was quite small but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Location wise it’s about a 15 minute walk from the train station and maybe about 20 minutes from the centre of the old town. It was by far the most reasonably priced hotel we could find in the area.

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting the famous Christmas market. This is a decent 3 star hotel adequate for a 2 night stay. The hotel is a 15 minute walk into the medievel centre of the city. The good points are that the hotel is clean and the breakfasts are very good. The staff are friendly and helpful. The not so good relate to the tiny rooms and bathroom which are not big enough to swing a cat . Also the absence of complimentary mineral water and tea/coffeee making facilities really do bring down its ratings for me,
After all is said and done our stay was what you would expect of a decent 3 star hotel and adequate for a short stay.

The hotel is a short walk from Opernhaus and Plarer U-bahn stations, and well positioned just outside the city walls (to the south west). The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town and a further 10 up to the castle and altstadt. The area just inside the city walls near the hotel is a little colourful (as in red light colourful) and although it felt safe enough, my wife wasn't entirely comfortable.
There was a friendly and helpful receptionist on arrival and absolutely no problem checking in when we turned up early. The room was rather small but very clean and comfortable. There wasn't a bath but not an issue either as the shower room was clean and functional.
The room was quiet (although oddly someone had a barking dog in a nearby room - can't imagine it's a long term guest). The TV and safe in the room were useful but there wasn't any tea/coffee making facilities or a fridge and that was a real pain. First hotel room I have had in for years that didn't have a kettle.
The breakfast was excellent. Full range of cereals, museli etc, hot breakfast selection, hams/meats/cheeses etc, breads, rolls, pastries etc. Absiolutelty ideal if you're setting yourself up for a day out.
Ultimately this hotel was very well placed for getting out on foot or by tram and u-bahn. It's clean and comfortable if perhaps a bit minimal in terms of room facilities. A very good base if you're intending to sleep, wash and start the day with a good breakfast before heading off for the day.

Dear Jamie E,
Thank you very much for your pretty detailed feedback! Special thanks for your detailed feedback that you have enjoyed our breakfast buffet and service.
Currently we are working on kettles for each room and we hope that we can provide this service in the future. For sure they are already available @ our business categorie which also provides a larger room and breakfast which is included in the room rate already.
We hope to see you again in the near future here at the Park Inn by Radisson Nuremberg.
