“indian food with punjabi - hindi atmosphere”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

crowded , looked popular : I had made the mistake of going there without a reservation and had to wait at the bar for 25 minutes ( lucky ) ! but then the starters and the main courses were all that I wanted it to be : superb ! what added to the taste was the light banter and suggestions from our waiter from Punjab , india : made the dinner very enjoyable .

“Genuine slice of India in Munich”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Being from India, when traveling abroad, I normally prefer the local cuisine and try staying away from Indian fare because that is what I get back home in any case.

Nevertheless, not knowing this personal trait or taste of mine, our German business hosts took us to this Indian eatery. I should clarify 'North Indian' or even more specifically 'Punjabi' eatery. If you are from India and speak a smattering of Hindi / Punjabi the waiters get floored. We had been allotted a table close to the entrance. But after my 'Punjabi' exchanges they quickly apologized and shifted us to a very nice table on the inside followed by super extra attention till the end.

The food was typical North Indian, not the pseudo types you find in some of the Indian restaurants outside India.

All in all, if you dig North Indian stuff, try this place. If you don't speak the lingo learn some words like 'Namaste' & 'Shukriya' ... might help to get a good seat and some extra attention.

“Great Indian food at reasonable prices”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Had lunch today with a colleague. We got a table quick and were served promptly. Beef Vindaloo with Nan bread and the soup of the day. Washed it down with a Weissbier and it came to 22 Euros for the both of us. The beef vindaloo was very spicy, but not so spicy that you could not enjoy it Very tasty. It was lacking in the Beef part, but overall, lunch was a great value.

Good food, prompt service, and a great price. What more can you ask for?
