Randomly picked this one star restaurant off Via Michelin star guide,
Restaurant is located in the busy Karlsplatz and was easy to find.
We decided to try the Martin Fauster Menu which cost 132 Euro per person, which is for 8 courses, including 7 courses and a course of cheese selection. Wine pairing and coffee with this menu costs 210Euro, which we decide to give a miss.
Description for this degustation menu was simple and short , so you will have a lot to imagine before the courses arrive at your table.
Two amuse bouche, one cold and one hot was served before the start of the courses. The hot appetizer, tender crab claws with a small langoustine and water melon drizzled with seafood sauce was refreshing! And we were glad that the rest of the courses that followed also gave us much pleasure. All the courses were created with many interesting flavours and texture, which were managed so well that they gave lots of complexity and depth . As at times it is easy for ambitious chef to go wrong with use of too many ingredients... But I must say.... It was all perfectly designed and executed. Dessert was also refreshing and satisfying.
Oh.. And this is the ONLY starred restaurant which we have been to for past years that has not employed the technique of foaming in ALL of its courses..... Well this is something very different!
Service was ok, not exceptional but good enough.
Ambience was cosy with good view of the busy street and lights..
We spent 288 euro for the menu for 2 pax with 2 glasses of wine and a bottle of water.
Happy that we have picked this restuarant ! Will return if we are back in munich.
