The attractively styled Shiraj is located right at the border of the Schwabing and Neuhausen/Nymphenburg areas, not quite downtown any more, but within easy reach: Streetcar lines 20 and/or 21 stop at Leonrodplatz, just 200 yards from the restaurant--a 12-minute ride from downtown "Stachus/Karlsplatz" or from the central station. Shiraj has been in this location for 26 years--that alone is a good recommendation.
The Indian cuisine (I have never tasted their Italian offerings in the interconnected second wing of the place) is exquisite, and it is attractively served. I personally love their tandoori or lamb dishes, but their is a goodly selection of vegetable dishes that even a "meat lover" like myself has always enjoyed.
