On my last evening in München, October 21, I went to a movie in the Filmmuseum, then at 10.50 PM wanted to have a last beer. I chose to stay in the same building and went to this Stadtcafé, which looks nice. Closing time was clearly stated as midnight (as it is on their website). I ordered a Hefeweizen at the counter and guy 1 asked me unusually to pay the 3,60 € first. I went with my glass to a table, and guy 2 said I couldn't sit at a table because in "winter" they would be closing at 11 PM. And yes, he knew it was written otherwise, but that 's the way it was. He gave me 10 minutes to drink at the counter. Meanwhile other people were sitting and chatting at tables. Guy 2 said he knew, but since I paid in advance he thought I just wanted a quick drink. I said I was made to pay in advance, which guy 1 "couldn't remember". Guy 2 asked what I was complaining about, I got a drink, hadn't I. Then he said "seien Sie nicht böse" and took my arm. I emptied my glass and went out. People were still sitting at the tables. My impression is that at that time it was a gay hangout and they wanted me away. Anyway, they spoiled the last evening of an otherwise pleasant stay.
