Make sure to catch their jazz on Sundays. Great food, great location, great place to being the kids and let them run around.

Don't forget to play a round of mini-golf.

This is one of the most beautiful beer gardens Munich has to offer. It is not easy to reach but if you enjoy walking I recommend talking the Tram to Grosshesseloher Brücke, then walk over the Bridge itself, take the left walkway up and go left at your first chance. It will take you about an hour but you will pass the wonderful Isar and some nice scenery. Ask some locals if you are not sure about your way.

Otherwise, there is some parking available.

The beer garden itself has a self service with great food, rather pricey but it is worth a nice day out. Besides, you can play Mini Golf or enjoy some Zuckerwatte or Roasted Almonds. You can also go through the Beer Garden to and keep on walking the forestway. It is really idyllic and calm here as long as you don't go during the complete peak periods.

Every time we are in Munich, we go here. It's beautiful. Large Kastanian trees, good jazz music, mixed company and not totally tourist infected (though we, of course are tourists). The beer is great, the food you can buy at the self-service part is typical Bavarian fare--not elaborate, but fine. You can also bring your own food (this is, after all, a Biergarten). The restaurant part serves very good Bavarian fare. We have had very goo roast duck and Sauerbraten. If you have a car, don't miss out on it--it gives you a taste of old Munich but with many active young people part of the scene.

If you're going in the warmer months, and want to visit an authentic beirgarten, THIS is the place to go. It's hard to drive to, so if you don't have a GPS, take public transport. The food is good, the beer is great, the service is also good. The live music was enjoyable. The overall atmosphere was phenomenal! This is on my list of "must returns" when I go back to Munich.

Went there for a business dinner. It is a rather fancy bier garten. Seems like a place to "be seen".

A mixture of casual and families with couples in jackets and high heels.

The food was just OK, while the service was very good.

It is not that easy to get to without a car. It was at least a 20 min. walk from the Sbahn station.
