My friend and I made a reservation for the “Bavarian Evening” in the beautiful Festival Hall (on the upper floor). It was touristy and a bit cheesy, and the hall was packed with large groups of senior citizens, but we enjoyed the atmosphere, the dancers and the live band. Even with the reservation we had to wait half an hour to get a table because of all the tour groups. The line for the food was long, and the food itself was average, but since it was a buffet and we could eat as much as we wanted for 20 euros, we couldn’t really complain. The beer was good, especially the dunkel radler, a wonderful sweet beer. Though we enjoyed the experience for the most part, we recommend eating on the first floor instead of doing the Bavarian Evening. It’s crowded and noisier in the main area, but also seems like a lot more fun and lively if you can grab a table. We were wandering around looking for the Festival Hall, and saw tourists mixed with locals wearing traditional outfits & hats and enjoying a beer.
