Description: PASSION-Without passion, Tantris would not exist. Taking inspiration from his travels, the passionate gourmet Fritz Eichbauer commissions the building of his dream restaurant in Munich more than forty years ago. Tantris marks the beginning of a new culinary movement in Germany. PERFECTION- The term “Tantris” is derived from the Indian Buddhist culture and symbolises the search for perfection. And a visit to Tantris should be the epitome of perfection: From the seventies-era architecture to the Michelin two-starred cuisine right through to the international selection of wines and the friendly, professional service. ENJOYMENT-Right from day one, the emphasis at Tantris has been on enjoyment. For more than 20 years, the “master of simplicity” Hans Haas has put his unique signature on the cuisine at Tantris: Prepared naturally and simply with the emphasis on flavour. MAGIC-It is the atmosphere that conjures up magical moments. Once avant-garde and today enjoying cult status.

My wife and I really enjoyed Tantris, the style is insane here, all
covered up in orange carpeting, with this typical look from the 70s
and rather large, the atmosphere is special and a bit hippy.

The food is superb, we endulged the 5 course offer which went perfect
with with champagne and wine (German) both red and white. We even got
a complimentary entree that was awesome.
And we were impressed both by the quality and size of the dishes.
Pity for the long waiting between the dishes, ... an hour and a bit
more one time, although it was worth it.

We were served by a friendly young waitress, though very forthcoming
she was a bit distracted but no biggy.

Prices totally in line with the quality, service and atmosphere.

The staff were friendly, professional and executed their duties impeccably.
The food was sublime-as close to perfection as it gets .
The wine list extensive-however the sommelier a bit cavalier in his interaction with guests and a bit overbearing and self-righteous and not really keen to understand the requirements of his guests.
The decor was pleasant and the seating and table size generous and comfortable.
An added extra was the hospitality shown us when the restaurant used their car to run us back to the hotel-unexpected but welcomed fitting end to a really enjoyable evening.
Definitely with the schlepp of booking an evenings meal here

Maybe one of the best restaurants in Munich . Although it's very expensive , believe me it is worth it. Food is exceptional , maybe the best selection of duck liver I have ever taste. Service is impeccable . The atmosphere created by the orange color of the walls , the tulips and the lights is great. This is the reason that this restaurant is still exists after 40 years.

Tantris it's a very nice restaurant which deserves each Michelin star!
We had for starter the variation of goose liver with mango which was awesome and the sautéed scallops St Jaques!
Than for the main dish we had medallion of venison which I truly recommend!

Prices are a bit high but for this exquisite food you should try it once !
