Description: SCHUHBECKS SÜDTIROLER STUBEN Munich like Italy, Italians love to come to Munich. What is more obvious than to combine Bavarian delicacies and the sunny kitchen of the south on a delicious menu. The best courts within and beyond the alps are naturally prepared in traditional goodness, but served in the modern lifestyle: There is no classic menu order, just as you like. Appetizers will be provided in the middle of the table and everyone can try a gusto; the main dishes are no mighty plates to proud prices, but pleasantly portioned - hearty Bavarian or relish Italian, whether “kloans Gangerl” of “Gmias” or pasta al dente. The stylish ambience combines Munich charm with international flair The restaurant is located directly on Platzl, Maximilianstrasse and Viktualienmarkt. The elegant rooms offer individual reservation options: with Münchner Kindl Stube, Barockstube, Spiegelpalais and Löwenstube

We loved are meal and the service was great. We had the three course and for us that was adequate. We were very pleased with our choices. The pork bellies and the dessert of frozen creme brûlée was delicious (I don't even care for most creme brûlée). If you have a few days in Munich make sure you visit this restaurant.

KulturGourmet-Tour Munich offer
"The "KulturGourmet-Tour Munich" includes a sightseeing tour through Munich, visit to the Castle Residenz-Museum, a four-course menu at Alfons Schubeck's Bavarian Gourmet restaurant "Orlando", and a classical concert at the Alte Hofkapelle Residenz Munich."

So for the 'culture vultures' who want it easy. I couldn't get any of our group to join but I enjoyed it all. The restaurant provides a set menu so no German needed! It is all a bit too well organized (well it is Germany) and the good (though perhaps not 'excellent') food comes a bit as on a conveyer belt. It reminds me of the Cafe de la Paix in Paris.

Food is the now on the usual rectangular dishes and with drizzle

Schuhbeck is definitely one of the most popular chefs in Germany and a real Bavarian but he is driving too much into commercial which means you can taste that it's no more the Schuhbeck like 10 or more years ago when he really created mind blowing food in Waging!

Great food, top cuisine with a Bavarian flavour. Nice serving, high standards. it has one Michelin star. I understood the restaurant belongs to Shuhbeck, who is Bayern Munchen team'a official chef. I had a truffled potato soup with a veal patty , a pan-fried pike-perch on lentils with brown butter, and the most tasteful dessert - grilled pineapple with chilli-caramel, viola & vanilla ice cream.

My husband and I dined at Schuhbeck's last night with my mother and father-in-law. We were incredibly impressed by the food - it was an absolute delight. For 79 Euro, we received a three course meal (without wine). Each course rivaled any meal any of us had ever eaten. The decor seems a little stuffy when you first walk in, but the service was anything but. Our waitor was always there when we needed him to be and was very kind. Highly recommended (very expensive though!)
