The hotel was selected by a colleague (recommended from a list of hotels provided by a trade show organiser). As a major trade show was occurring, and Oktoberfest was about to start, the availability and cost of hotels in Munich was an issue. This hotel was selected as we could get the number of rooms required at a reasonable rate.
The location (just off the central station) is in the Turkish quarter, and be aware of the peep show booths and sex shops around. About 6 minutes walk from the station and underground, and 10 mintues to the old town, it is handy enough. The reception staff speak good English.
The rooms were large (most with kitchens and living rooms - although the kitchens were not well equipped, but with a kettle although no tea & coffee provided). Bathrooms were nice enough, and fresh towlen supplied each day. Cleanliness was fine, some furniture was a bit ancient. Decor wasn't too inspiring / comfortable. The aircon didn't appear to work (cool down) and as the rooms mostly face the street, leaving a window open would not be an option.
The Atlas Residence has no eating facilities at all, you go around the corner to a sister hotel for this in the morning - only an issue when it's raining. Breakfast was fine, cold and hot buffet selection.
Overall it wasn't a bad hotel for the money, although given the location I doubt I would re-book.
