Stayed here July 2012. A nice place - quite easy to find, too: find your way to the Hauptbahnhof and it's about a 5 minute walk. If you fly in - as I did - you can get the S1 or S8 S-Bahn line right to the Hbf. The hotel's very central, a short walk down into the city centre. Well placed. My room was not large, but it was clean. Lots of stripped pine; like going back to the 80s. There is no bar or restaurant, but there are several nearby.
The staff I met were all perfectly pleasent and spoke good English - to my shame I speak very little German.
The TV in the room was huge, an old CRT unit which took up about half of the room and only showed one English channel - which was darts from Blackpool the one time I checked.
The only real down side of it all was that I visited when it was hot - room was too stuffy with the window closed, too noisy with it open. I cured this by medicating myself at one of the Munich beer gardens.
Overall, I can recommend this place although with one caveat - I was travelling on business and my supplier paid, so I have no idea at all how much it cost and so how much value for money it was. I'm assuming it was on the lower end of spectrum, if only because my supplier apologised repeatedly, claiming there was a trade fair in town...
