I would rate this hotel as a perfect 3 star European hotel. It's very clean, well planned, and well located--meters from the Ubahn station and only about 13 minutes from downtown Munich. I had a 'business' class room and found it suited my needs perfectly. Only complaint is the lack of free Internet, but there is a computer that can be used for free in the lobby to check you email. Staff was also great. In particular, Werner, the night receptionist, was a pleasure, a real asset to the hotel. She was so happy to help me with whatever I needed and I enjoyed chatting with her! If you want to avoid the downtown prices or get a better hotel for your money, this place is great. Oh--the bed was really comfy too.

Very nice, clean and affordable hotel. It is a 10 minute walk to the BMW building (FIZ). Parking is in the back in closed mini-garages (very tight spaces). If you're visiting BMW on business, and not interested in being downtown, this is a very good place to stay. A Taxi to Hoftbrauhaus is about 18Euros.

Good location - close to the ubahn and BMW. Nice, small, recently remodeled room with a modern feel. Clean and well maintained with a pleasant staff and good breakfast Negatives are the street noise, lack of black out window coverings, the single bed and parking choices. The shower plan is not well thought out, but was not a nuisance to me. Water on the wood floor daily will be a maintenance headache. The price was high due to trade shows in the area, but that was known prior to arrival. Could be better, but not bad at all.

I stayed at the Koenigstein for a number of meetings at BMW and for that reason it is a good hotel.

The rooms are clean, modern and look nice, the breakfast is good, service is friendly.

The following negative points prevented me from giving 4 stars:
1. The beds are horrible. The mattress' firmness is OK, but you're sleeping almost directly on the foam inside without any absorbing or breathing layer. Coupled with the hot duvet this meant I was sweating like a pig thru the night, even with the window fully opened and with freezing temperatures outside.
2. The bathroom partially had a parquet floor. The shower stall unfortunately had no door, so the wood was warped because of the water spilling out of the shower, hurting your feet. Furthermore I found this parquet underneath the washbasin rather unhygienic...
3. The Internet connection was a Telekom Hotspot, i.e. not included in the room price, and limited to 2 Mb/s if you were lucky.
4. The A/C didn't work. I don't know if this was due to the central override, but this is unacceptable if you pay for a room WITH A/C....

All in all I wouldn't recommend you to go elsewhere, but I wouldn't recommend it either.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor as the elevators are slow.

Stayed 25-27/09/11, for trip to Allianz Arena for football. Octoberfest also on that week, so prices a lot higher than normal. Still, £110 per night, for a twin room, with buffet breakfast was good value compared to other prices being quoted for that week.
We were greeted by pleasant and informative reception staff, who asked had we visited the city before, etc. Rooms were spacious and clean, and shower hot and powerful!
Ordered a taxi to take us back to the airport through reception the night before, and it was outside waiting for us, on time, at 06.30am.
As mentioned in other reviews, extremely handy being next door to Frankfurter Ring U-Bahn station, for quick journey into the centre of Munich.
All in all, a nice pleasant short break.
