“Good standard business hotel”
Reviewed January 12, 2011

Just back from a long weekend in Munich and stayed at the Fleming's in Schwabing with my wife. Fleming's is very much a business hotel but it still ticks all the boxes for a leisure break in Munich and has a modern funky feeling about it. The hotel in a 5 minute walk from Munchener Freiheit U-Bahn station, if your feeling really lazy you can catch the tram. The room was functional but even with all the lights on it was still a little dull, breakfast was great with a good selection to fill you up at the start of the day. The hotel was really quiet during our stay so I had exclusive use of the sauna and steam room.
As the transport system in Munich is great we had no problems getting into the city centre and we even popped back out to the hotel on a couple of occasions to freshen up before going out in the evening. Over all a good standard hotel in a nice location. I would also recommend the Italian restaurant called Italy for a meal if you can't be bothered heading back into the city centre, it is between the hotel and Munchener Freiheit.

Perfect location, just a tiny bit aside so it was peaceful, short walk to the bubbly Schwabing, Englischer Garten around the corner, great connections with tram and buses... Breakfast was without comparison to anything I have had, and I have traveled a lot, simply perfect. Staff was friendly except for one Saturday morning, that was busy (but I stayed there for 6 nights all together, so one little thing is acceptable!) Loved the apples in the room and the toiletries, green tea is so sophisticated. Thanks, will be coming again!

My partner and I stayed here for two nights during Oktoberfest and were very impressed. As has been described, the shower cubicle is next to the bed rather than in a seperate bathroom, which is quite quirky - it certainly makes this hotel memorable! Actually for me the shower was the best thing about this hotel - huge and very powerful!

The hotel itself is a 20/30 minute walk from the centre of Munich and the main sights, but it is a lovely walk down a main street with lots of interesting sights on the way.

The hotel is in Munich's bohemian district, surrounded by lots of interesting architecture and great cafes and shops. I found it really interesting to walk around - much more 'authentic' than the more commercialised centre of Munich.

I would definitely stay in a Fleming's hotel again.

The mini bar fridge was located next to the head of the very small single bed and so all night was the sound of the fridge motor. The 'air conditioner' just made noise but did not cool the room and the shower arrangement was ridiculous, as you opened the shower door the floor got soaked and it was not possible to brush your teeth in the over stylised sinks because of the large tap in then way. Staff were surly and the breakfast was lacking. I had half used toiletries in my room as well as someone else's trainers left in the warderobe - cleanliness did not seem to be a priority judging by the amount of dust in the room. DO NOT STAY HERE

I stayed at the hotel as stopped by the volcano ash in Munich Airport for 5 days - yet I stayed in Flemings only for one night.

This is OK hotel with good breakfast and other funny things as no water sinks - they have some strange glass half ball instead - very unpractical in my eyes, same for the shower I had.

Yet what made me feel very uncomfortable it the reception staff (strange enough young ladies mainly, as the male person there was very helpful and friendly, yet not very focused either) - please, thanks and sorry is not very easy used by them and the feeling of 4 stars as I was a burden... - yet may be it was my personal impression or may be they had some heavy day due to lot of stopped passengers. They do not check you in till 14.00, so I had to wait ca 2 hours and even then room was not done fully... - no excuse done and every two minutes some disturbance from the hotel personnel with some questions.

Overall - the hotel is far too expensive for the service and in future will try to avoid this net (the miles are only credited when you stay two nights - strange, ha). Internet is all right, but need re login every 30 minutes.

For the money paid could find nicer place in Munich.

I stayed here for a number of nights during December 2009. I was very impressed by the quality of service. This service level is of a very high standard and the staff are only too happy to assist you.
Located 5-7 mins from one of the metro stations, and 10-15 mins to the Lufthansa shuttle bus drop off/pick-up point, I would say that this provides an edge over competitor hotels.
My room as one would expect was very clean and comfortable & I did not find this location to be at all noisy!
The breakfast selection was amazing.........indulge, you'll love it!!! (:
When I am next travelling to Munich I would stay here again.

Don't expect too much from this hotel. Rooms are too close to the noisy lifts and the hall doors shut loudly as well. Staff were courteous but weren't very friendly.
