Nice hotel located in quiet place. Close to Deutsche Museum(10 min by foot),1,5 km to City center. Service is excellent, staff is very friendly. Rooms are big enough for the price given. Minibar, safe, separate bath and shower, flat TV. Breakfast was very good.We liked this place and will return on next visit.

Munich is a fun city and where you stay makes it all the more enjoyable. Like all NOVOTEL hotels they are build with efficiecy in mind and yet provide excellent food, design and servce. It is a great brand that stands out. This hotel and location was great. It is a short walk to the Deutsches Museum and to the Beer gardens (Weisse Lilly), and scenic surroundings. Staff is very professional and the kids loved the Wii downstairs while we enjoyed our dinner somewhat longer.

I'm visiting often this hotel and it has a very good standard, not changing over the years. Nice rooms, comfortable parking place, good breakfast. The location in the city center is perfect: easy to reach by car, easy to move around by public transport system.
If I should find an improvement opportunity...for sure would be the pillow. Other hotels provide different pillows so that you can find your favorite.

I travelled on business in November 2012, so I wasn't in the least bit concerned about irons and ironing boards and the like. My room was spacious (an Executive room I believe) with a pristine clean bathroom (bath and separate shower), a sofa and coffee table and a large work desk with a TV adjacent. And masses of wardrobe and hanging space. There was a minibar and coffee making facilities, although the instant coffee granules provided didn't make very nice coffee! There's also a safe in the room for keeping your valuables.

Quality of sleep is very important to me and while the bed was exceedingly comfortable, the two pillows provided were not. They were square and too flat, not providing enough support. But folding them in half made them too deep! So I really didn't get a good night's sleep while I was there, and for that I've deducted one star.

A few other points to note. Breakfast is extensive in choice but also expensive (19 Euros). The quality of the food at breakfast was good by hotel standards. It's quite crowded in the restaurant in the morning around 8am which is of course peak time. By 10 it's much quieter.

The Lobby area is large and provides internet facilities via two iMac computers. In room, there is wired and wireless internet but it's expensive to buy access (35 Euros for a week is quite a lot in my opinion). The elevators are fast and there are enough of them that one never has to wait more than a minute or two.

Nearby the hotel are many shops and restaurants, although I preferred to walk from the hotel to the center of the old town, which takes just 15 minutes. By taxi it takes less than 10 minutes.

I had to queue to check out, which is frustrating when you're in a rush. I was surprised that there no no facility to drop the key and go.

For international travellers such as myself, all the staff I met spoke excellent English. The staff were also polite, helpful, smart and attentive. Everything one could wish for.

To correct something I read in another review, there IS English speaking news on the TV and I recall there are also other foreign news channels.

Overall, I absolutely would return to this hotel. I had an enjoyable stay and it's always a relief when staying away for business is easy and convenient, not a battle against the odds. This hotel ensured that my stay was easy and convenient.

We've stayed in a few Novotels and always been satisfied with the service, price and facilities. This one was no different and we would recommend it for family trips or weekends away. The rooms are nice (we're not really concerned about irons and ironing boards or english-speaking TV) and the lobby/bar area is comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant is not that good with a limited selection and a bland food. The S-Bahn is a 10 minute walk around the corner and it is worthwile figuring out the nearest entrance to the S-Bahn system because the connection to the rest of the city when you get to the station are excellent. Nice pool in the hotel too.

I don't normally post reviews but I feel I have to make a couple of corrections to importantinfo's review below:
1. It is true that there are no irons or ironing boards in the rooms but there is a room on the second floor (beside the lift to the pool) with 2-3 irons and ironing boards in it.
2. I'm not quite sure why you say there are no English-speaking TV or news channels. The hotel has Bloomberg, BBC World, Al Jazeera English, Sky News, Russia Today and France 24 English.
The free PCs (well they're actually Macs) in reception have a printer attached to them which is very handy!
The other thing I'd say is that you really can't hear noise from other rooms in your room - I've had some of the best nights of sleep I've ever had in this hotel.

Check in fast and friendly, room clean, modern, quiet and spacious. Shopping mall, large supermarket and underground station next door under the Holiday Inn. Only downside is no iron, ironing boards or face cloths supplied and lack of English speaking TV or news channels. 2 x free internet PCs in reception. Cab rank close by. The buffet breakfast is amazingly good. 5 Minute walk to museum and around 30 min walk across the bridge to town and food market. Highly recommended hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms NOT on ground floor are best, there are no 'good view' rooms but who goes to Munich f...
