“Beautiful hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2013

Beautiful new hotel located at few meters from the main central station (Hauptbhanof). The hotel is new , clean and the owner is kind and really accomodating. I think I'll always go in this hotel in the future if have to go to Munich again.

My wife and two children (ages 9 and 6) stayed in a studio apartment with kitchenette and small but very workable bathroom (no tub, just a shower). We absolutely loved it. The staff had unfolded a futon into a comfortable double bed for our children, and we slept in the queen bed. The kitchenette was very useful to our family, and the hotel and furnishings are quite new, well kept, and clean. We returned from busy days sightseeing with the room serviced and tidy.

Our room also faced the street, and a previous review discussed the noise from streetcars outside. We found that with the windows closed it was not an issue whatsoever, although on warmer evenings it could be unpleasant without air conditioning -- unnecessary for our stay.

Helpful staff at the front desk; WiFi included; coffee and tea provided in kitchenette; laundry on-site (although we didn't use); in-room safe; good closet space.

The location is excellent - literally across the street from Hauptbanhof, walkable to Marienplatz and other sights, although with the subway station at the corner you can get anywhere without walking. We also enjoyed the biergarten at Park Cafe a block away.

Very good value considering the good size of room, cleanliness, condition, kitchenette, location, and beds for our family of four - difficult to find at many other properties.

Room: My wife and 4 month old baby stayed in room 23 and paid 129€ per night. The apartment was a bit on the small side – the kitchen was tiny (it could only fit one person) as was the bathroom. The living room was adequately sized. It would be suitable for a couple but definitely not a family. Everything (but a hairdryer) was available for us, and everything was of a good, modern standard, and everything was clean. Our room faced out on to the street and the noise from the trams was very loud. There is no fan or AC in the apartments, so prepare to sweat if it gets above 30OC outside – we sure did. Our room was serviced once during our stay (which is fine by my standards).

Hotel: The reception is staffed from 0930 – 1830 daily. We arrived at 2300 and thankfully the owners son was there to greet us and help with the bags. Everyone was friendly and helpful and tended to all requests promptly and friendly. Free wifi is available too, and there’s an elevator which is better than lugging your luggage up and down the stairs. There is an onsite laundry (3€ per wash and 2.50€ per dry), but no restaurant. There’s a great bakery three doors down and a Thai restaurant next door which does takeaway.

Location: Just 500m from the old town, this was a great base for us during our four day stay here. It was close enough without being too touristy – we felt like locals.

Tip: Car parking is available at 10€ per day in a building 100m away.

Final comment: I’d recommend this as an affordable apartment, but would rather stay in the old town next time, closer to the action.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face on to the street

Perfect for longer stays! I was looking for a two-week accommodation while in Munich, centrally located. Particularly during conference times the hotels in Munich get very expensive. This is a great alternative to the conventional hotels, without the rate changes they force on you during busy times. It is a brand new place located right next to the central train station, Hauptbahnhof. It is designed for longer stays of one week or more so all rooms have a kitchenette and large desk space. The entrance looks like a regular apartment building and the hotel does not have a normal reception area. Instead there is an office on the first floor (one level up) for check-in.
The place is run by a super nice family, at one point they were all in the office working, including the son who was studying for some architecture classes. The manager has some IT background, maybe one of the reasons the Internet was very fast and reliable. (I checked out of a previous place I used in Munich because of the bad Internet connection, so this was really important to me)
Other nice things include an elevator (not always a given in Germany), a laundry room with washer and dryer (requires coins). I had to buy my own detergent, but grocery and other stores are with a few minutes walking distance.
