“Good food goes with excellent wines”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

Especially the starters and desert were excellent.
The expectation level had risen a bit by the tasty and surprising starters so the main course was pretty OK but still a bit of a disappointment.

“Stumbled upon this place for lunch - outstanding !”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

I was walking around my hotel looking for a lunch place and happend upon this place. Small winebar and restaurant. Specializes in German white wines, but not all of the selection. I had the set menu for lunch which is all they offer before dinner. Today it was a nice starter of greens and salmon, very nicely flavored with oil and herbs. For the second course I had a mixture of tender beef and wild mushrooms. Cannot describe how tasty this was. I passed on the dessert.

“Go to place since we moved to Haidhausen”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

*please note: the city part of the address in tripadvisor is WRONG, it's not in "Kirchheim bei München" but simply in 81675 München, and the name of the city quarter is "München-Haidhausen", the street name is right though*

Not only a great place for great wines but before all one of the best kitchens in the area. Patrick Seidel the Sommelier is guaranteed to find the grape you actually wanted to trink before you knew it. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a certain casualness. I've been there for working dinners, romantic dinners with my wife, or relaxed wine and dine with friends. For all occasions Patrick and the chef de cuisine Bastian Boll have fully convinced me. The good thing is, everyone I ever brought there, came back themselves.
The menue is new every week. It is very short with a small but fully sufficient à la carte part and an always surprising menue section with the choice from 3-5 course menue with or without corresponding wines. You can check it out first on their website if you like.
There is a promotional event each Saturday, where a special menue (2-3 courses with wines) is offered from 1pm - 5pm only at half the price of the normal menue, so if you are not 100% sure you want to spend around 60-70€/person for a menue with wine and water, go for the test on Saturday first (23-29€).
But then again even at the normal very moderate prices, you will not be able to replicate the same quality of food and/or service ;-) at home.
In summer the terrasse is also great for a nice lunch or dinner enjoying one of Munichs best quarters: Haidhausen!
