Stayed here August 2013 - the hotel is everything you'd expect from IBIS Budget, clean, relatively inexpensive but one thing really lets this hotel down - the man/woman team that run this place have no concept of how to be happy with customers.

(1) Man (beard/glasses) is the worst of the two ... was on the phone with female customer in the evening rolling his eyes at me, sighing and puffing at the customer to whom he was talking on the phone. After he'd put the phone down with her he made a snide remark about her to me - how can badmouthing customers to other customers ever be professional? His overall attitude reminded me of a certain

I got a coffee from the vending machine and asked him politely in German if he had a portion of sugar. He looked at me like I had asked him the world's biggest favour and told me in a strict manner to read the machine more carefully in future. I speak German and the machine had no option for extra sugar.

He reminded me of Basil Fawlty - a man clearly not cut out for this line of work who can't deal with Joe Public whether under pressure or not.

(2) Woman (short/glasses) - she speaks English well but is ice cold - just a single SMILE now and again to brighten up the customer's day would go such a long way. She behaves like a robotic hotelier and there is zero warmth and nothing comforting in anything she says in either German or English.

Note to IBIS Budget - send the lovely man from Salzburg Flughafen to these two to give them a few lessons on how to talk and behave with YOUR customers!

It's a real shame about these two as this hotel is actually OK - just 5-7 mins walk to the U-Bahn. Street parking also nearby but again, up to 10 minutes walk. Busy road outside but my room at the back was fine. Breakfast was excellent apart from having to put up with the two grizzle-guts that run this place.

After searching a lot of hotels in Munich, most of which were unavailable during our period of stay, we finally selected this hotel. As we were planning to travel to places around Munich rather than staying in Munich itself, we didn't think much before we booked this hotel. The hotel seemed to be reasonably priced, and we found it be a clean and decent enough place to stay. The reception desk, however was very unhelpful/unfriendly and costed us precious time and money (mentioned about it below). I've rated the hotel according to a few parameters.

Location: 4/5
Hotel is a 5 minute walk from St-Quirin Platz U-Bahn station, but tough to locate especially if you have to pull your luggage. To be fair, there is a direct train from the hauptbahnhof, so it isn't that hard to reach. The location of the hotel however is on a main street with no restaurants or shops (except the one below) nearby. Problem if you reach the hotel late and want to have dinner. There is a 24 hour gas station mini-supermarket right beside the hotel, so that's something to look out for.

Wifi:4/5
There is wifi in the rooms, but it's a bit slow.

Reception service: 1/5
We arrived early morning to Munich by bus. Although the check-in time was around 1 PM, we were hoping to reach the hotel much earlier and atleast keep the luggage. To find this out, I called up the reception. The guy who answers however is so very rude. When asked about the check-in time, he says 5 PM (actual check-in time is at 1 PM). When asked if I could atleast keep the luggage at the hotel and freshen up, he blatantly replies NO. Just when I was still trying to come to terms with the sudden rudeness of this person, he asks me if that's all I wanted to know, and before I could reply, BAM...he hangs up! I've travelled quite a bit but never found any reception desk in any country to be so rude. We ended up putting our luggage in the Munich railway station lockers and freshened up at the Rail & Fresh at the station, not to mention our travel plans for the day being disturbed.

Breakfast: 3/5
Order breakfast only if you are in a hurry for the day. Else you can have a hearty breakfast elsewhere in the city.

Size and quality of rooms: 3.5/5
Room was small and cozy, just about enough to keep our suitcases. The bunk bed (for the third person) is a good addition. The room was very clean and the room was cleaned promptly

Room Tip: Rooms are mostly computer allocated. The 24 hour gas station mini-supermarket just beside the hotel...

Overall is OK, just i had problems with parking, i had to wait for parking entry code because you can get it only in the reception, but reception is open only on certain hours. Breakfast is as usually very poor, but if you on hurry, then its ok.

This hotel was just what we needed. Comfortable and conveniently located close by two metro (u-bahn) stations. The breakfast was good, according to standards. There were no disturbances nor noises overnight, we had a good night sleep. The crew was friendly.
