lively but silent at night, plenty to do on site, great cheap home cooked food, friendly staff. only downside that it is a bit out of the way, but its a short tram ride in. but who cares considering the price of the bed. onsite kitchen. showers and toilets spotlessly clean

I stayed at the Tent in a tent for Oktoberfest and I found it a great bargain and a great place to meet people. I didn't stay in the bunks which seemed comfortable when I walked through. The staff are very friendly and hooked me up with some Aspirin for a pounding headache the next morning. (I doubt I was alone) Its kind of out there in terms of location but you can take the light rail public transportation to the city and be there in 20-30 mins. You would think it would be one huge party, but the staff does a good job in keeping a lid on the noise so you can party outside and come here to crash. I was actually shocked at how quiet it was. I was skeptical at first but I would definitely stay here again.

Fine place fr backpackers. But i'll advise to visit it in sommer, because in autumn it's too cold in there.

Imagine that you sleep with 500 young backpackers in a huge tent hahaha. You will need a good pair of earplugs, sleeping bag and humour! Helpful staff, good(and cheap) food, super clean bathroom and shower, campfire every night.. and you can reach the city centre in 15 min by tram. If you're a backpacker it's a right place to stay. Remember that it opens only from June to October

This place was fantastic. So wierd tho. You either get a bunk bed in a big tent and get given some blankets or u get a mat and some blankets and find a space on the floor in another big tent. we chose the floor for saving moneys sake and it was sweet, u could have as many blankets as u needed and there are lockers for ur stuff. the food is excellent and really good value, 30cents for a cup of tea! a million times cheaper than other places i have stayed. its just a tram journey away from town.

this place really seems like to be in it for the travellers rather than for the money. it has such a good atmosphere.

This place was so much fun to stay in! Everything was really clean, the bathrooms/showers where never full and they have lots of places to hang out. The food was organic, really good and really cheap. Internet was .50 per 15 mins. Ask for more blankets than you think you need because it is really cold and they don't give you a pillow. Try and get a bottom bunk because sometimes the top ones get dew on them.

This place is great! We stayed there for 3 nights and could've stayed longer - although it's outside Munich it's easy to get the tram (get a 3 day pass which works out at a very reasonable price as you'll use it a lot), so the location isn't a problem. Staff all very friendly, and beds surprisingly very comfortable if you get lots of blankets - I slept better there than at many other hostels. Shower and toilet facilities very good. The best things were probably the atmosphere and the food - it's very laid back so you can easily meet people and join in with a game of table football etc., and there are catering facilities as well as a cafe, so either way you can eat really cheaply (you can buy enough breakfast, e.g. rolls to last for lunch as well for about 3 euros, then eat a good evening meal for about the same price - no beating it!). Definitely would return here.
