“A listed gem offering calm in a great city”

A piece of lovely history , charming , calm super location near the Schloss Nymphenburg, for the city and transport, superbly managed; breakfast is a treat, and local restaurants offer a wide choice. As everyone says , it's a gem.

My wife and I are celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year, and as part of that decided to take a trip to Germany and Austria. The first place we stayed in on our trip was the hotel Laimer Hof.

Here are the things we liked about the property:
The location, in our opinions, is fantastic because of the fact that it is in a quiet and very nice residential neighborhood. We loved this aspect.
There are plenty of local restaurants to choose from nearby, all within walking distance of the Laimer Hof. A must is La Brassiere (I hope I've spelled it correctly), which is a beautiful French restaurant just down the street from Laimer Hof and serves fantastic French food. We also ate at two other restaurants, both within walking distance of the hotel, and enjoyed them very, very much.
The Nymphenburg Palace, which is a great place to visit, is only a ten-minute walk from the hotel. We visited in February, so obviously the gardens surrounding the palace were not green, but we still enjoyed a tour of the palace as well as watching the water fowl, including the swans, in the ponds that front the palace.
Finally, the staff at Laimer Hof are incredible. I really don't believe you can find friendlier people running a hotel anywhere. Sebastian is just incredible, always smiling and cheery and is an encylopedia of knowledge regarding Munich.
Jan, the young man who works for Sebastian and his wife, is also an extremely friendly individual and we really enjoyed getting to know both of them.
There is a continental breakfast each morning, which is extremely healthy and a great way to start the day before you set off on your site seeing around Munich, which in our opinion, was the absolute best city of the three we visited on this trip. We loved it and will likely visit again.

I've stayed many, many times in Munich, and I regret I've never found this little gem before. As previous reviewers have said, the welcome and level of personal service from Sebastian and his family is second to none.

The hotel itself is a 15 minute easy walk to/from Laim station (though if you hop on one of the frequent buses ,it's about five minutes). The hotel itself is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, so parking didn't seem to be an issue (I didn't have a car, so couldn't be sure). Free in-room wifi (expected these days, but some places still charge), and a decent cold breakfast selection. No formal bar, but alcohol can be served, and there's a minibar in the room.

The walls are a little thin, so you might get woken by people rising earlier than you, but that's not reason enough for me to discount this place for next time I'm in Munich.

We stayed at the Laimer Hof in June 2012. This beautiful little hotel is a gem! It's in a quiet residential neighborhood a short streetcar ride to the city center. The staff was gracious and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices. The rooms were charming with very comfortable beds--how often do you get to say that!? We loved the Laimer Hof, it really enhanced our visit to beautiful Munich!

The best thing about this hotel is the lovely hospitality. The family who own the hotel are very friendly and helpful. Comfortable, large rooms and a good breakfast. Nice residential location near the beautiful Nymphenburg palace and some great beer gardens.

We stayed at the Hotel Laimer for 3 days. Sebastion and his wife own the hotel. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Sebastion was always there to answer any questions and if he was busy they had other people to help you. Everyone always had a smile on their faces. When they would make up our room they would put our nightgowns in the shape of the woman with the waist in. It was the cutest thing. My daughter had a scarf and bow on her bed, so they folded up the scarf and put the bow in the middle of it. They whole hotel was extremely clean. The bus is close by, the train further away, but not too far. Beds have new mattress and very comfortable. They have free Wi-Fi and it works very well. If I come back to Munich I will always stay here. I will recommend them to everyone.

Room Tip: We stayed in a triple room. It had two doubles put together and out of the way it had another singl...

This is a realy nice Hotel. Our room was small but beautiful and it was quiet. Very clean, nice facilities. The breakfast was excellent and employees were very friendly and allways helpful with information and tips on how to explore Munich. Free Wi-Fi is included. We had a very good stay!
