“Comfortable and very welcoming”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012

We stayed at the Laimer Hof as part of a biking tour of Germany. It is a nice place with a most excellent and solicitous staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable but since the hotel does not have a lift the rooms on the upper floors are accessible only by stairs which were somewhat difficult for us because of knee problems. However, Sebatian and Jan were more than happy to tote our luggage up the stairs for us. They were also excellent sources of information about tours of the city and surrounding areas. The continental breakfast they offered each day was very nice with fresh breads and rolls etc. The hotel itself is near public transportation as well as several very nice restaurants. We would definitely consider staying at the Laimer Hof if we visit Munich again.

Room Tip: If you have any infirmaties it would be better to have a ground floor room.

We stayed just one night in Munich during a road trip across the country,
So we didn't look for a place in the heart of city and paying a large amount of money.
The front person welcomed us very kindly and help us with everything we need for travel in the city just for one day!
From routes, sightseeing and even current festivals which occured during our stay!
We also needed to print our flight tickets so he helped us about that and used the printer's hotel.
The room was a little bit small but for us it was great & clean, the location was great. very quiet neighbourhood with a parking place of the hotel!

Recommend for everybody :)

We stayed here 5 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Staff are great, all spoke good English & only too happy to advise on restaurants etc.. Rooms are comfortable and clean, bathroom was a good size. Trams are only a few minutes walk away and less than 15 minutes into town. Looking forward to returning next year

This small hotel is in a quiet residential area but close to all forms of transport into downtown Munich or airport. The staff are very friendly and gave us the full briefing when we arrived including walking us to our room to show us all the features. The beds were comfortable and the room was very quiet. We had the breakfast in the morning (extra) and it was good. There is also the largest beer garden within a 10 minute walk plus some very nice restaurants/patisseries to choose from. Would stay here again!

Stayed here last year and did not even consider anywhere else when I came back this year. A perfect location for a Munich visit - convenient to tram lines going downtown and to the S-Bahn from the airport - no need for a vehicle. Good restaurants and a great beer garden nearby. The breakfasts were wonderful and the proprietor and his wife could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Clean and comfortable rooms with character. A great value for a family stay. The Nymphenburg Palace complex is only a few minutes walk away - after two years I still need more time to see all of the park and botanical gardens. Highly recommended.

The good stuff: next to Nymphenburg castle, friendly and helpful service, great breakfast, comfortable rooms.

The not so good stuff: only the thin walls - we were woken very late in the night by the guests next door - it *sounded* like they had turned on the TV really loud but the walls were quite thin so it might not have been as loud as we thought.

My wife and I visited during this past Oktoberfest as we visited Salzburg and Munich. We chose the hotel for its location away from downtown and in a quiet local neighborhood to get some quiet at night. It was a great choice. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from a 10 minute tram ride to downtown Munich which makes it super convenient. There are a few restaurants and a biergarten within 10 minutes walk in addition to where you can go with the tram. The staff at the hotel were/are outstanding.....informative, friendly, happy to assist with pretty much any request. Very good breakfast and beers are available at night to assist with the conversation with fellow hotel guests. As is typical in Europe the rooms are small, but very clean and efficient. If you are looking for quiet, clean and friendly this is it. We would definitely come back.
