In general, German restaurants are average. They certainly know how to fk-up a sausage! However... This place is different. I attended on a Tuesday night, which you'd expect to be dead. It really isn't! The restaurant is buzzing with a vast mix of demographic, from the students eating pizza downstairs, to the businessmen eating fillet in the penthouse upstairs.
It's expensive. That's the only reason I'm removing one star. However, the food is just perfect whilst the staff are extremely friendly (and more importantly, knowledgeable in the food and wine). The ambience is relaxing, avoiding the pretentiousness that other central Munich restaurants might promote.
For a satisfying casual bite to eat, grab a table downstairs. For a special occasion with a big budget, reserve one upstairs! But be quick, this place gets busy and attracts a queue even for a basic seat.
