My wife and I stayed here for a short pre-Christmas trip to Munich. We chose to upgrade to the Junior Suite to give us a little more room.

The hotel location is perfect for walking access to the main shopping and sight-seeing areas. It is also well located for public transport links (train and tram). For us it was perfect to walk out into snow- covered Marienplatz, do some shopping, drink some warming Gluhwein and then walk back to the Mercure to drop off our parcels before starting out again.

Our room was a good size, practical and comfortable. There is building work opposite but the noise was not intrusive. There is no view to speak of from the room. The room was clean and housekeeping was efficient in keeping it that way throughout our stay.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast looked decent value at EUR 15 although we did not try it. 24 hour internet wifi access at EUR 3 was excellent value.

We would definitely choose to stay here again should we return to Munich.

Excellent location for sightseeing the city centre, all walking distance. Clean and excellent service, only real trouble (not the hotel's fault) was construction work being carried out in the next lot, which was a bit noisy.

Every time I go to Munich, this is the only place I stay. Rooms are always 100% clean, great price and the location - you can't get any better.

Would recommend and will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location and is very quiet. It is a couple of steps away from Marienplatz. There you can take S Bahn to get to the airport. The main train station is not far from here as well. It is close to the shopping area, cafe's and restaurants. Room was decent and it was well kept. The breakfast was great and diverse. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Wireless internet access for 24hours is 3 Euros.
I would stay here again and would recommend to the others.

Very nice hotel, very clean and close to Marien platz.

Could have done with tea making facilities in the room.

Why personal must be so rigid? In Munich, apparently (both Sofitel & Mercure) the personal (front desk) do not seem to please too much the clients. Everything starts with a 'no', and after negotiation maybe you get half an hour of checking out, even that I requested late check out in my booking! If I need an hour, they offer me half an hour? What is the difference??? More, I got my sleepers wet and I asked for a new pair...never came! And if I am asking a double bed and you don't have a double bed suite, at least have the decency to put those two beds together and not feel falling between them in the middle of the night...I also asked (as my free drinks) for flat water (no sparkling) instead of gas water...the answer no!!! Cola light instead of regular....No! I believed that being an Accor Favorite Guest for more than 7 years, I get some privileges, not in price or reservations particularly, but in service and I don't have to wait in the lobby for an hour, just because some young girls at the reception are soo rigid and impolite! Thank you!

Dear guest, first of all I want to say that we are very sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay in our hotel. Regarding your complaints I would like to inform you that we are always doing our best to fulfill our guests wishes like late check out or early check in. In your case we were not able to give a late check out as our hotel was booked out and we had to clean the rooms for the new guests arriving. Our free minibar offers sparkling water, coke and juice. This is a gift from us to our guests. If you wish to consume different drinks you do have to purchase them at our bar. The slippers we offer are also a gift to our guests. As you might know, as a 3 Star Hotel this is not standard to provide slippers. Nevertheless we provide every room with a pair of them.
If you wish to contact us regarding you complaint, please do so at H3709-gm@accor.com. best regards L.v. Beckerath

The hotel accommodations are what you pay for. It's a budget hotel off the beaten path, but located in a really good spot (10-15 min walk to the clock tower and the Marienplatz) There is a massive construction project going on right next to the hotel, so the noise level in the morning was annoying. This project looks like it may take up to 9-12 months. The room we received was decent was on the 3rd floor, it was well kept, but the carpets looked a bit dingy, the customer service was a bit moody, the only real perk was the complimentary drinks the hotel had to offer. Don't purchase the breakfast at the hotel its expensive, there is a tiny cafe around the corner that we picked up breakfast at every morning. There is an elevator if you don't want to climb the stairs in the hotel. And one thing to note, the bathtub is a bit high to climb over and the when taking a shower you will make be guaranteed to make a water mess so make sure you angle the shower head just right. We will stay here again for the price and location, it felt safe. One thing to note for Munich, on Sundays the only thing opened are the beer gardens and some restaurants. Many shops close by 8pm and the city becomes pretty dead during the weekdays, I'm not sure if it's the time of year? Also there is an authentic Bavarian restaurant down the street from the hotel, a 5min walk.
